And So...: Why Do We Need Men?
http://sarahmwells.blogspot.com/2013/06/why-do-we-need-men.html
Sarah M. Wells rambles on. And on. And on. Monday, June 10, 2013. Why Do We Need Men? So there's news flitting about that women are increasingly the leading or sole breadwinners. In the American family. In most cases, this means more and more families are being raised by a single mom with an absent father, or the reason mom is the breadwinner is because dad can't find work. Article " The new f-word: Father. All flabbergasted males), and the MSNBC "Morning Joe". Why do we need men? The necessity of an ent...

Always Growing Up: May 2011

Thoughts from a mom who has found herself growing up with her children. Very often, the only way to get a quality in reality is to start behaving as if you had it already. That is why children's games are so important. They are always pretending to be grown-ups - playing soldiers, playing shop. But all the time, they are hardening their muscles and sharpening their wits so that the pretence of being grown-up helps them to grow up in earnest. CS Lewis, Mere Christianity. Letters to my mom. Just another WordPress.com site. This entry was posted on May 14, 2015, in Motherhood. Therefore, while I respect the black and white platform and where it took me, my life has proven to not be that simplistic. Of All the Years | Beyond the Big Red Barn
https://beyondthebigredbarn.wordpress.com/2016/12/16/of-all-the-years
Change this something normal into something beautiful. Jars of Clay. Beyond the Big Red Barn. A Bit About Me. Of All the Years. Painting by Gari Melchers). It has been a rough week. Two kids sick, a pile of work to do, an even larger pile of dishes and a mountain of laundry. The Christmas program looming…I am directing. Gifts to buy and wrap. Company coming. And then I catch the flu, too. Their eyes. Their eyes. Pools of sadness deeper than anything I have ever known. Lord, have mercy. The silent stars g...

Pooh's place in 100 Aker Wood in Japan. Sharing my experiences while teaching at the Christian Academy in Japan. Saturday, December 17, 2016. A Saturday Walk along the Yanasegawa. Today is the first full day of Christmas break. The weather outside was sunny but cool, a lovely day for a walk for Hana and me. The route we took is one of my favourite routes. I think Hana likes it too. Enjoy the pictures. Looking for some food. A duck just floating along. This time of year gives us opportunity to look forwar...

Pooh's place in 100 Aker Wood in Japan. Sharing my experiences while teaching at the Christian Academy in Japan. Sunday, June 12, 2016. At the ¥20,000 mark, the MS StuCo would do the ice bucket challenge. At the ¥30,000 mark, two of our Middle School teachers agreed to dye their hair. At the ¥50,000 mark, I said I would be willing to cut all my hair off. They were successful in raising over ¥50,000! You may wonder why in the world did I agree to this? Links to this post. Pooh's place in 100 Aker Wood in Japan. Sharing my experiences while teaching at the Christian Academy in Japan. Sunday, November 1, 2015. Saturday, October 31 gave me the opportunity to go for a walk with Hana. It has been a long time since we were able to walk. Some plants are now bare, but there were still some flowers and birds. The grasses were quite tall, taller than I am. A rototiller was used on this land recently. Busy working the soil with a shovel. I bought these at a vegetable stand. YUM!
