Working Dead Productions: Summer of Darkness: Desperate(1947)
http://workingdeadproductions.blogspot.com/2015/06/summer-of-darkness-desperate1947.html
Tuesday, June 30, 2015. Summer of Darkness: Desperate(1947). You see what I mean about Steve making the same stupid decision over and over again? He even tries to run again later in the film, hoping to make it all the way to California. If that hadn't been far enough I'm sure he would have been on his way to Mexico in an instant. OK, maybe that's stretching things a bit, but my point is clear. Noir leaves a stain that isn't so easy to get rid of. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Where You Can Find Me.

Working Dead Productions: Summer of Darkness: Tension(1949)

Saturday, July 18, 2015. Summer of Darkness: Tension(1949). Eventually Claire leaves him for a wealthier man named Barney Deager(Lloyd Gough), and Warren begins to fall apart. He goes to try and reclaim his wife, only to be beaten on the beach by his wife's lover, in a scene with all of the dramatic weight of a body-building ad from the back pages of a comic book. The jerk even steps on his glasses and kicks sand on him. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Where You Can Find Me. 2016 Movie a Day.

Working Dead Productions: Summer of Darkness: Where Danger Lives(1950)
http://workingdeadproductions.blogspot.com/2015/07/summer-of-darkness-where-danger.html
Saturday, July 11, 2015. Summer of Darkness: Where Danger Lives(1950). Where Danger Lives is another film noir fixated on travel, with the majority of scenes taking place in cars driving down lonesome south-wet highways, or in a variety of small towns that dot those roads. It also features one of my favorite types of noir protaganist; the addled hero who can no longer trust his own senses. It's a type that was there for La Bete Humaine. After them, their options have all been exhausted. 2016 Movie a Day.

Friday, February 03, 2012. My Movie Diary - January 2012. 5- I loved it. It blew me away. Something I'll definitely be watching multiple times. 4- I really enjoyed it. This may one day be elevated to 5. The movie more or less achieved everything it set out to do. 3- I liked it well enough. I won't be recommending this to most people, but I don't have anything really negative to say. 2- A mild dislike. Almost neutral. I didn't outright dislike the movie but it didn't do anything for me. The Call of Cathul...

Tuesday, June 02, 2015. Summer of Darkness: Murder, My Sweet(1944). I had a nightmare! A lot of crazy things! I slept. I woke up and the room was full of smoke. I was a sick man. Instead of pink snakes I got smoke! Well, here I am. All cured. What were you saying? Speak up, Dr. Jekyll! I'm in a wild mood tonight. I wanna go dancing in the foam. I hear the banshees calling. I haven't shot a man in nearly a week. What can be said for certain about the plot? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Man of Tai Chi.
