We’ve made it! 4 days of long, hard slogging and we’ve made it. Was a pretty each day today compared to yesterday. My body felt better after a long rest and early night and most of the trail was on roads or Tarmac so keeping speed took less effort. This entry was posted in Uncategorized. Well, that was a stinker of a day. 109km over the Pennines- including wood head pass! Had to walk to top of that bit- the trail Isn’t on the road, it’s a goat track all the way in the hills). The climbs seemed to just come one after another after another (don’t forget I’m carrying half a tent, food, water, clothes and cooking equipment!

I’ve pulled my thigh muscle, calf muscle, swollen and painful knee joints, fallen over onto asphalt and my bum is pretty sore right now. But plain is nice in my opinion, and simple is good. The Nashbar SS is a favorite every day ride in MidTN for me. Practical, reliable, fun, and relatively inexpensive. Lets see if I can give you an idea of what’s going down. Machine built trail starts out looking a lot like hand built trail, except for the machine in the middle of the whole works. Hard Riding, Heavy Music, and Good Times. July 3, 2013. In which you get an update, but no pictures. Yet. And don’t think that my being too busy to post has in any way hampered my riding. It hasn’t. I’ve had some great rides lately, both because they really were great rides, or because they maybe were marred by some mechanical difficulties, but the company and just the fact that we were out riding made them great. And really, isn’t that the important thing? I must say I was relieved to not HAVE to do so.
