One Line - Callum Nash Archive

2011, fine art. This is the refined expression of a style I began developing back in 2008, with ‘Cube Time Displaced’. That started out life as part of one of my sketchbooks. I would like to think that this piece exists as both a static image and as an animation (with a little help from your brain.).

2015, Conceptual, Industrial Design. These are stills from test footage of a costume I am developing for a film. I cannot say much more than that for now, but the suit is an experiment in a composite fabric I have created. A kind of morphing polygon surface composed of triangular mirrors.

Connor Lawlor – Castles. 2014, Album Art. Album Art for Connor Lawlor’s debut EP ‘Back To You’ and single ‘Castles.’. For ‘Back To You’ a photographic cover was commisioned. Later, for Castles, a digital painting was commisioned.

2008, Industrial Design. A competition project for Vitra through D&AD, this student project was to design a sofa that would be produced only 8-12 times and cost between 8,000 – 120,000. It is clear that the brief is calling for a sculpture that can be sat upon. I created a form inspired by the movement of liquid through air, as captured in fast frame photography. This model was later cast in resin.

A 3D printed robot capable of solving a Rubik's cube in around 3 minutes. A simple Android app for timing Rubik's Cube solves, as well as providing random scrambles and statistics. A 3D web simulator for building and naming simple alkane molecules. A lot of random small projects and experiments can be found on my Github! My adventures into 3D printer buliding. Fun creations using an Epilog laser cutter at our makerspace. Rubik's Cube like puzzles that I designed and had 3D printed.

Monday, April 6, 2009. Dear M.r.s. Shanmugan,. Thursday, March 12, 2009. Hello I am Callum! Monday, March 9, 2009. Dear m.r.s. Shanmugam,. Yes,I had a wonderful time at YIO CHU KANG stadium. I was a participant there. I think being a participant is more fun than being a spectator because you are more invovled in the events and you don't have to sit in the hot sun getting sunburnt. I think that my house did very well because we tried our best. Monday, March 2, 2009. Dear M.r.s. Shanmugan,.

Taking notes at a Canton Symphony rehearsal for one of those posts I never finished. Principal Trumpet Scott Johnston invited me to sit next to him. He’s awesome. When I was a kid I used to sneak my Mom’s walkman into my room and listen to hockey games way past my bedtime. I became enchanted by the living story unfolding on the ice. Later, the Olympic Games captured my attention. Those athletes were my introduction to defying the ordinary. Today, I tell stories. I announce. Host, produce, shoot, every way to tell em'. And I still listen. Because the story doesn't have to end, as long as there’s someone paying attention.
