A little while back I switched to using a rotary file tool on Yuna’s nails instead of clippers, and she has made the transition with more ease than I ever dared to hope for. How wrong I was. I won’t go into detail, but it was a terrible ordeal for Yuna and a few weeks later when next I needed to trim her nails, she was having none of it. Of course there’s not a chance in hell I’ll take her back to the groomer, so I needed another option. Enter battery-operated rotary file!

It was one of those special runs where you set out with no goal, no thoughts of pace or upcoming races or mileage totals. Just a complete run by feel and desire. We took it a little longer than we’ve been able to lately and did 6.25 miles on the Forest Park trails. And then to cool off Zeke spent some time playing bonk the ball in a kiddie pool. Naar de inhoud springen. Geschiedenis van plaats en streek. Calluna is een natuurpark in de Achterhoek, prachtig gelegen in het bos. Er staan 61 bungalows, 45 van het eerste type (foto linksonder), gebouwd in de jaren ’80, en 15 van het tweede type (foto rechtsonder), gebouwd in de jaren ’90. Een deel van de bungalows wordt voor recreatie verhuurd, maar het grootste deel wordt door de eigenaars zelf gebruikt als weekend- en vakantiehuis. Informatie over verhuur op het park.

July 16, 2014. Today my therapist helped me realize that I grasp at perfection like a person trying to grab an object floating in water: the harder I grab, the more the object swirls and drifts outside my grasp. She encouraged me to let things settle. Once they reach the bottom they are easier to scoop up. I think a contemplative practice is key to helping me allow my thoughts and strivings to settle so that I can see them clearly and then work with them more calmly. So, how are you doing?
