Chertsey: September 2014
http://chertsey130.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Boats, beer, and paraffin. Oh, and tea. Friday, 26 September 2014. A memorial plaque on a bench outside the Packhorse Inn, Crowdecote. You'd go a long way to find a better summing up of the typically English attitude in four words. Wednesday, 24 September 2014. One of three seen on Sunday's walk. Tuesday, 23 September 2014. Or, in the absence of on open fire or a solid fuel stove, the next best thing - my new cosy corner, focal point of my front room for the winter months. Monday, 22 September 2014.

Chertsey: March 2015
http://chertsey130.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Boats, beer, and paraffin. Oh, and tea. Friday, 27 March 2015. And keeping Rocky on board. He might have qualms about descending four and a half feet, but with a bit of a run up he'd have no trouble in the opposite direction, so the first task of the weekend was to Rocky-proof the hold, creating a safe enclosed space, particularly so that he can't escape at night. Thursday, 26 March 2015. Getting Rocky on board. Greyhounds aren't very good with stepladders, so we had to improvise. Wednesday, 25 March 2015.

Chertsey: The moon (and sun) under water
http://chertsey130.blogspot.com/2015/03/the-moon-and-sun-under-water.html
Boats, beer, and paraffin. Oh, and tea. Tuesday, 24 March 2015. The moon (and sun) under water. The Moon Under Water is, of course, George Orwell's ideal London pub, drawn lovingly in an Evening Standard. Call me old-fashioned.) and worst, a very large, very loud, TV. For various reasons, largely mouse-related, eating on the boat wasn't an easy option for the first couple of days, and anyway, we'd been working hard and deserved a treat. Here are some other people looking at the eclipse. We learned that w...

Chertsey: May 2014
http://chertsey130.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Boats, beer, and paraffin. Oh, and tea. Monday, 12 May 2014. That was the title of this weekend's walk, and here we are doing just that. This week's walk was a bit of a contrast to the previous two. For a start, the weather was very different - far more bracing, with frequent heavy showers, wind, and occasional horizontal rain. Secondly, the scenery was different too; heather moorland for the most part, in contrast to the green pastures and twinkling waters of earlier walks. Wednesday, 7 May 2014. The on...

No they are all legs! Sadly Liams dad has just lost one of his beloved greyhounds, Albert. He had been feeling a bit off for a day or so, went out for a walk and dropped dead in the field with his brother Cecil by his side. Everyone misses him. He was a great character. 27 March 2015 at 20:12. 28 March 2015 at 21:21. The ele...

Chertsey: Rocky and Spot
http://chertsey130.blogspot.com/2015/04/rocky-and-spot.html
Boats, beer, and paraffin. Oh, and tea. Thursday, 9 April 2015. Rocky made a new friend on Friday. Here he is with Spot. They began by having a marvellous time chasing about the yard. Ricky has quickly learnt not to try to run at top speed under boats, so Spot had the advantage there. 18 May 2015 at 08:31. 28 May 2015 at 09:07. 29 May 2015 at 09:03. 1 June 2015 at 19:41.
