Keeping track of things I like in photography. We Love Photography →. A terabyte hard drive in 2 seconds…. June 14, 2013. I’ve been thinking again about the 50-gigapixel AWARE camera. In development by a Duke University-led team (a UA researcher is also working on it). The camera uses 98 separate 14-megapixel microcameras and then the images are stitched together, in the latest update to 19th century composite printing. This graphic from a Wall Street Journal article. Is good, too:. Suns, suns, suns.

Keeping track of things I like in photography. Just wandering through the vault… →. Suns, suns, suns. June 19, 2013. The Distance of a Day. As Blake Gopnik writes on the Daily Beast. Last February, Horvitz got his mom to record a video of the sunset over the sea near Los Angeles, where he was born and grew up. At the same moment that she was taping, he was at a point almost opposite her on the globe, in the Maldives, taping the same sun as it rose. Horvitz has this to say. This, of course, I love —...

I saw this show at ICP and didn’t like a lot about the show itself — mostly the hanging and exhibition design — but I think the photographs and their story are fascinating, and have incredible potential for further study. Keeping track of things I like in photography. In the interest of keeping track of things…. November 3, 2014. I hadn’t written a haiku post on the artist Anne Noble, but I did have a lovely time corresponding with her — mostly about her Antarctica work, but also about her new project on the decline of the honeybee — for an interview we published in terrain.org, which is published by the University of Arizona Institute of the Environment. We called it. In Search of an Ecological Sublime. Suns, suns, suns.
