http://evergreenasjournal.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Places Where I Lurk. Monday, December 30, 2013. A sneak peek at my current project. Now that I'm on Christmas Break from school, I've returned to one of my personal projects: a short comic based on the first chapter of my fantasy novel, Bluewillow. I've been working on the thumbnails/layouts for each page and designing the characters. Here's a work-in-progress of one of the panels I've been working on. Click to view larger). The Storyteller's Treehouse: August 2014
http://evergreenasjournal.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Places Where I Lurk. Sunday, August 10, 2014. Audrey is the main character in my fantasy novel. Ultimately, my dream is to create a full-length comic based on the story, but that's still a long ways off. First, I'm just focusing on the first chapter - which will be about 8 pages in comic form. I'm still in the process of designing the characters. About a year ago, I came up with this turnaround for Audrey:. What do you think of this new direction for Audrey? Posted by Rachel Kimberly. I did these quick g...

The Storyteller's Treehouse: January 2013
http://evergreenasjournal.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Places Where I Lurk. Sunday, January 13, 2013. The World is My Classroom, Part 2. As I sit at my desk amidst the mess of my clothes, books, and art supplies, anticipation rises for tomorrow, when my college classes resume. I attend Northwestern College in Minnesota, where I am in my second year of studying art and animation. In this previous post. From 2010, I gave my reasons for not. However, despite all of this, I eventually realized that God had something more in store for me. I began to feel lonely s...

The Storyteller's Treehouse: May 2012
http://evergreenasjournal.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Places Where I Lurk. Tuesday, May 1, 2012. A Tribute to Daisy. Who once danced,. Face turned toward the sun. On searing metal tracks. Pale petals drift across the taconite. Caught in eddies of melting snow. It's been over a year now since my family's beloved young labrador retriever, Daisy, was hit by a train. It was a traumatic experience, but I finally feel like I can write about it. I took this photo of her only a couple of hours before the tragic event. Posted by Rachel Kimberly. A Tribute to Daisy.

The Storyteller's Treehouse: September 2012
http://evergreenasjournal.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Places Where I Lurk. Sunday, September 16, 2012. Midnight on a Lake. It is after 1:00 in the morning as I write this. I'm staying with some friends in a real life log cabin on a lake in Wisconsin for the weekend. We've spent our time tramping around in the boggy woods, building forts, kayaking, eating sloppy joes, star-tipping, and canoeing at midnight. Pretty cool. It's just a rock! Instead, what if every time I saw a star, I spoke to the God who created all the flying objects up there?

The Storyteller's Treehouse: A Faun and a Pink-Haired Goth
http://evergreenasjournal.blogspot.com/2014/01/some-sketches.html
Places Where I Lurk. Monday, January 27, 2014. A Faun and a Pink-Haired Goth. Some recent character doodles from my sketchbook, including a young faun. And a pink-haired retro-goth girl named Sydney, who also happens to be a superhero. Yeah, she really is all that. And I didn't even mention what her superpower is. (Don't worry, she'll probably show up again.). Posted by Rachel Kimberly. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A Faun and a Pink-Haired Goth. Travel template. Powered by Blogger.

The Inkblots: Evergreena

In which several Authors pursue the life-threatening sport of writing, and suffer from insomnia and various mental illnesses that accompany setting pen to paper. Evergreena isn't my real name, of course - I'm Rachel. But I've always gone by Evergreena online, ever since I signed up for my first NaNoWriMo. I've written science fiction and fantasy, and I'm always experimenting with new genres. My current love is Steampunk. {Sky pirates, anyone? I love my family. And most importantly, the story of my life s...

Places Where I Lurk. Wednesday, July 23, 2014. Lately I have been doing some exploration sketches for my senior project in college. My senior project will involve doing concept art for the children's story Roverandom. By J R. R. Tolkien. My idea is to design characters, environments, and props/vehicles for an imaginary animated film based on the story. Posted by Rachel Kimberly. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Travel template.
