Wonderful bunch of Prairie Verbena on the side of a drainage ditch along RM 243 south of Bertram, Texas. A simple Antelope Horns milkweed in my yard. Went to the Guadalupe Mountains NP Labor Day Weekend. (I've now been to 5 National Parks! It was extremely foggy and rainy there. We had to cancel our camping plans (the only way to stay overnight at the park, which is 35 miles away from any gas. Need to upload pictures. Plan to buy Lightroom soon. It's also a lot harder to keep in shape; when living in Eugene, I could just ride my bike around town, exploring, or going shopping; here, the only roads are two-lane highways with 60 mph speed limits, which I'm a bit wary of biking on. Decided to update the blog; been a bit of a long hiatus recently due to moving to Eugene, Oregon to attend the University of Oregon and major in Architecture, with architecture studio being a lot of the reason for having so little time to blog. Spending multiple all-nighters working on models is not a conducive environment to write in. Yes on Sound Transit 3.

Looks like Austin might be just a little bit closer to voting on the City's urban rail project, which unlike MetroRail, will actually garner ridership, as it connects three of the main employment centers in Austin: UT, the Capitol, and Downtown, with some of the northern inner-city neighborhoods. And that's just in the first phase.

Especially with the gains in ridership they've been having in the last several years. NYTimes - New York City Grew, but Traffic Didn’t. Of course, now that it's showing such rapid growth, now is when the MTA's under threat of having to reduce service drastically, if not given new life by the folks up in Albany (which they probably will be).
