Friday, November 17, 2006. ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER TEST.SUCH IS THE LIFE OF MIGHTY MAX! We left Seattle early this morning (5:30 am) so we were back in Bellingham bright and early. Ok Mom wasn't too "bright", she didn't manage much sleep during my sleep study. (I guess you could say that was my fault, I woke up crying several times.those wires were a little overwhelming and scary.). Lady, what are you doing to me? Mommy, this really isn't all that fun. Don't make fun of my wire ponytail. Amy and mighty max.

Friday, December 08, 2006. COMING TO GET YOU MOMMY! I am pretty attached to Mommy these days and if she leaves the room for even a minute, I will cry or try to find her. She loves our special connection, but says it is quite difficult to get things done while holding me all the time. I haven't quite learned how to hold on yet so I am a two hander for sure! I guess I need to learn some independence.but really, isn't that overrated? Anyway, that's the cool thing about my new mobility! Amy and mighty max.

Saturday, October 21, 2006. Check out my big ol' snot! Yucky for you maybe, but very exciting for us! See my nose never,. Runs Some kiddos with repaired choanal atresia (born with closed nasal passages) have constant runny noses and others (like me) have the opposite problem.all of the snot runs backward. This can cause a lot of coughing, congestion, vomiting, etc. And Mom and my nurses have to suction my nose all the time since the passageways are so narrow. It was quite funny! Amy and mighty max. Thursday, December 21, 2006. GUESS WHAT TODAY IS? MY ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY! Yep I have officially been home one entire year from the hospital! Last year at this time. I was incredibly fragile. My mom was warned repeatedly "this kid has terrible lungs, he is on thin ice and when he starts to crack, he will go down quickly.very quickly." Yikes, that sure made her nervous! Friday, November 03, 2006. COUGH, SNEEZE, GAG, SMILE. This kiddo is definitely in the running to be the next Energizer Bunny. He just keeps going and going and going. Amazing! He's coughing, sneezing, and gagging like crazy, yet he still manages lots of smiles and giggles. That is certainly reassuring. Sunday, December 10, 2006. Maxwell's sleep study confirmed our suspicions.he indeed has "obstructive sleep apnea." That basically means he has airway obstruction during sleep. Nothing too serious (it's pretty common), but it does require some intervention. If the problem continues, we may try CPAP but I just don't think Maxwell will tolerate the mask very well. And another option that may help is a surgery to remove his tonsils and adenoids. This would hopefully enlarge his narrow airway.
