Sunday, November 18, 2007. This is my first winter back in North America in over two years. I was just starting to get used to the fact daylight "savings", which kicked in a few weeks ago, meant the sun disappearing at 4:30 in the afternoon when I woke up friday morning to the year's first snowfall. Sunday, October 29, 2006. Last Sunday a group of us hiked up Jang-San, or Jang-Mountain. Mountain hiking, or climbing as the locals call it, is a pretty big deal in Korea. (we established that climbing require the use of all four limbs, whereas hiking was just the legs). South Koreans take a lot of pride in their mountains and it is a great family outing. Tuesday, May 29, 2007. Even little everyday things are a little harder, a little more complicated. This monstrosity is the result of two guitars, a roll of saran wrap and two rolls of duct tape. I had tried to get one of them shipped home but the cheapest and safest way was going to cost more than the guitar itself. So I hauled this green nightmare to the airport Sunday morning with nightmare visions of some airport official asking me to open it up to check something in it. Bags checked without incident!
