After tearing apart the vehicle I conclude that the jackass at the river must have taken it, because I distinctly remember tucking it next to the parking brake. Like an idiot I must have left the door unlocked, thinking I'm pretty far out in the country so what's the harm. Boy was I wrong. In fact my site is right behind where you are shooting!

You know, it's amazing how much influence your environment can have on your lifestyle and habits. In just a few short weeks, I have gone from a drinking, smoking, lethargic, sports betting junkie with a bedtime of about 6am in Las Vegas; and have seemingly been transformed into an active, energetic, future-thinking, wilderness-roaming optimist that starts his day. At 6am. Pretty wild stuff.

And realizing that the clouds had been getting progressively darker and it was looking like rain, I started setting up a tarp that would give me a sheltered hangout. I basically ended up just attaching a large tarp (10x12) to the rear hatch using bungee cord and tent stakes, and it held on securely even in moderately windy conditions. After spending a couple nights in the forest, I cut through some 4x4 trails and got onto the 34 which is the main highway entering the Rocky Mountain Park from the West. As I was passing Lake Granby I stopped for a bit to enjoy a view of the West side of the national park from this quaint little town.
