The Ferry
http://www.campbellsferry.org/the-ferry.html
In 1897 William Campbell, a son of Scottish immigrants, came to a flat of ground in the Salmon River Canyon to grow and sell vegetables to neighboring mines in the high country. In 1898 a gold strike 60 miles south at Thunder Mountain brought a flood of prospectors seeking to cross the river and wilderness. Campbell built a ferry and the Three Blaze Trail to provide a northern route to Thunder Mountain Mine. The Mechanics of a River Crossing. Click here for pictures of the ferry.

Friday, July 31, 2015. Picture of the week Lavender Shortbread cookies. Saturday, July 25, 2015. Picture of the week Whose stick is it? Thursday, July 23, 2015. I varied from my regular Thursday hike, when I got an invite from my daughter to go for a trail run with her. She wanted something a little hillier than she has in her own location. So we met at the local REI parking lot and drove together to Stimpson Reserve. She and her husband do Spartan races. And running (kindof) together! If you click to en...

The Campbell's Family Blog
Monday, May 13, 2013. These first bunch of photos are from Brook's Farm last fall. Ev bouncing on a blue dog? Actually I'm not sure what animal that is supposed to be. Max on a tire horse. This is the kids jumping on a giant air mattress. the thing was probably 20'x60'. Now we move on to the park. Ev on a swing. And Max on a swing. While I was out shooting photos of my bike I was able to capture this one of a couple of birds in front of this huge barge in the water. Our pumpkins that we got from the farm.
Campbell's Farm Stand Local & Delicious
On Campbells Farm we raise our beef in a safe and humane way. Our steers are on pasture as long as the season allows it and are fed our own corn silage and hay along with grain from a local mill. As a former dairy farm, animals have been raised by the Campbell family on this farm for many, many years. We never use any growth hormones. The pigs on our farm are also raised naturally in a relaxed atmosphere where they can run in and out of our barn as they please. We find this stressfree. All beef hot dogs.
