Built in 1940, Camp Claiborne was home to the largest wargames in American history, the Louisiana Maneuvers in 1941 and was the birthplace of the much storied and celebrated 82nd and 101st airborne divisions. Nature has reclaimed most of Camp Claiborne and all that remain are concrete pilings, foundations, a few small concrete buildings and some of the camp roads. The Camp Clarke Raiders shooting range is located 5 miles South of Bridgeport at Seybolt Park. The Raiders' shooting range is open year round to club members and their guests. Only traditional muzzle loading firearms shooting round ball slugs may be used at the range. NO In-Lines or modern firearms are acceptable.
