Making Roots: 08/22/10

http://camphopehaiti.blogspot.com/2010_08_22_archive.html

Sunday, August 22, 2010. The DRUMS and BONUS. Another day in Haiti…. Camp has been a Joy! The drums have been off the hook. Today we had the pastor of the church, another leader of the church, four of our counselors drumming and all the children running around in a circle singing and playing other instruments. Some might call it noise, but to my ears it was glorious worship and smiles. Today is piñata day. It will be a crazy mess. They always go crazy for the piñata. We have been acting out bible stories...

Thursday, January 14, 2010. How Can I HELP HAITI? Last night my roommate told me that there are reports of people who are under the debris and rubble, but the people outside could hear them praying and worshipping the Lord. I had to smile, in the midst of what I believe to be Haiti’s hardest hours, they are WORSHIPPING. I know that you all have been watching the news and the reports are unimaginable. Many of you have said, “What can I do? I want to do something? Thank you so much for your prayers, suppor...

Making Roots: The Last Day...

http://camphopehaiti.blogspot.com/2012/08/the-last-day.html

Tuesday, August 14, 2012. Seeing more and more that the difference is discipleship and working alongside them through the good, the bad, and the ugly. The work isn’t pretty, it is often ugly, and often comes with getting burned out, fried, exhausted, and getting burned by people. Without the love of Christ breaking through in these places, what can be the lasting change? Do we weep for the things that make God’s heart break? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Thursday, August 13, 2009. Hanging out at the school. The band is warming up. The valley behind the house. Sacrifice that God made for us. We were also able to talk about the importance. Of family and loving one another. Caitlin. Painted a pigeon in the mural, which helped us to talk about the Holy Spirit and the beauty of God's love. Really neat moment. Was a neat year fro Caitlin and her painting. It is such a blessing to Camp Hope to have her paint these murals, brings such life to the town. Camp TIME...

Making Roots: 11/19/09

http://camphopehaiti.blogspot.com/2009_11_19_archive.html

Thursday, November 19, 2009. We made it to Passe Catabois. What a beautiful place with such beautiful smiles. On Friday we walked to a market with our Haitian. Someday a DESIRABLE Land. This is life for so many children. Thinking how could this be.still thinking. Taking a shower. How beautiful is the flow of water. How is it that I got so blessed to have the life I have? Dancing in the Street. We ended the day rolling up to the car to hear the "band." hahah. What a show, but loved it. A couple horns,...

http://rynah.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

Life in Passe Catabois. Wednesday, March 7, 2012. A Little Illness, A Little Reflecting. Sunday March 4, 2012. I was trying real hard to focus; I saw a few babies but started to feel so dizzy, nauseous and then proceeded to break out into a full body cold sweat. At that point I was beginning to think something was majorly wrong and it would probably not be a good idea to try and prescribe medication to people! Thanks all for reading, thinking, praying, supporting…. Monday, March 5, 2012.

Life in Passe Catabois. Saturday, July 16, 2011. It’s time to breathe some life back into this blog people…. I’m headed down to Haiti in less than two weeks. Life in Passe Catabois. Tuesday, July 29, 2014. Summer Camp Cite Soleil 2014. Friday July 25, 2014. Although times can be hard for me to be there even for one week (yeah, I'm a pansy) as far as patience goes; heat, thirst, and hunger tolerance goes; and emotionally (seeing another world apart from my own that highlights inequalities in resources and opportunities) goes, somehow succeeding in bringing some activities, enrichment, nourishment, and joy to the kids is satisfying. Life in Passe Catabois. Saturday, July 28, 2012. A Trip to the Mountains. Saturday July 28, 2012. Today was kind of fun. Ok, not kind of; it was SO fun. Another adventure for the books, which who would expect anything less while living in the rural mountains of Haiti? E made a moto trip up to the mountains of Mahotiere. A place I have heard of often, as I’ve had patients come from this area from before, but have never seen with my own eyes. All I knew of it was that it was far and way up there. We arrive...
