Assateague Camping Trip 2008. Thursday, April 3, 2008. Assateague Camping Trip 2008. March 27th - 30th. Since last years Fishing trip was a bust, as far as the fishing goes, we decided to try something different so we geared up and Headed to Assateague National Park. Thursday’s ride down was ok, even with the Moron on the Walt Whitman Bridge. The Suburban did good pulling the trailer, gas mileage wasn’t too bad, averaged around 7.4 mpg. The weather was a bit wacky. Thursday Night was very windy and cold.

Tuesday, September 15, 2009. Looks Like we lucked out yet another year and as a bonus, no injuries this year and better yet NO WALT! I will post some pics once I get them uploaded. Yes Yes Killens Pond Campground is on 13, not 113 Dupont Highway. I decided to take down the other suburban and realized I had no mirrors, Laura was at the allergist with Amanda and stopping at the bank, so I unhitched the truck went back to work and picked up the mirrors. And of course I had to step in dog shit to top it off.

Friday, February 8, 2008. Killens Pond this year was great, it was John's first time out with us, Jim was a bit under the weather as was I later that night heehee. The ride down was uneventful, not much traffic and no road construction. Travel time and camp setup was a about 3-1/2 hours. The site was awesome, easy to back into and close to the dock. We had Water and electric and the facilities were nice. Our loop was pretty full but the sites are spaced nicely. I hope we didn't bother our neighbors much!

I just emailed the park and although the park underwent a modernization project that was completed in September '09 only Flush toilets and showers were added, there are no electric sites. We however have a generator. We will have a few canoes this year. Let me know what dates are best, if we get more than 5 guys, I would like to bring another camper.
