Campaign For Really Good Beer: July 2011
http://camrgb.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, 31 July 2011. Whoever is doing the purchasing for Sainsburys at the moment is doing a pretty good job of it. Lovely deals with Meantime and Brew Dog, some decent American bottled beers and now a special Adnams 330ml bottle called Spindrift. Generally I like Adnams - They make no fuss, flavoursome if unadventurous beers (that said Broadside is a belter, a beer I love to drink). Spindrfit claims to be a dry amber ale with a touch of wheat for extra sparkle (whatever that means). I quickly decided t...
Campaign For Really Good Beer: August 2011
http://camrgb.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 31 August 2011. Apologies for the lack of posting over the last couple of days or so. It is due to us slowly moving over to our bespoke website. Shortly all of this blog will live over there as well as all new posts. In the meantime here's the flag of our Republic Of Really Good Beer to raise a toast to. Maybe we need a National Anthem? Milk And Alcohol by Dr. Feelgood perhaps? Sunday, 28 August 2011. Moorhouse's Pendle Witches Brew (5.1%). They've decided that filtered bottles are best. I've ...
Campaign For Really Good Beer: Odell Brewing Co. IPA (7%)
http://camrgb.blogspot.com/2011/08/odell-brewing-co-ipa-7.html
Saturday, 27 August 2011. Odell Brewing Co. IPA (7%). So, my first taste of an Odell beer. As a friend pointed out last night Odell's branding and artwork are superb - beautifully designed labels and bottle caps that make you want to pick up the bottles and investigate. So what about the beer? Well, this is a really complicated India Pale Ale. Hidden away in there is orange rind, thick oozing caramel and toasted brown bread. Yes you read right, toasted brown bread. This is super duper. Why not help us.

Mediocre Beer Adventures: February 2013
http://mediocrebeeradventures.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Asserting Birmingham's right to good beer. Tuesday, 19 February 2013. Taking ones own advices. Some while ago I wrote a post about the ideal Birmingham pub crawl - it's here. Now over the course of the year this has proved to be quite popular (in so far as my blog statistics appear to show). This post also seems to have had bursts of sporadic popularity, where I am gratified to say, people appear to be actually using it to plan real-life crawls. So I decided to do the same. Next up, Citra and delicious T...

Mediocre Beer Adventures: The Birmingham Beer Bash (2) - The Actual Thing
http://mediocrebeeradventures.blogspot.com/2013/08/the-birmingham-beer-bash-2-actual-thing.html
Asserting Birmingham's right to good beer. Sunday, 11 August 2013. The Birmingham Beer Bash (2) - The Actual Thing. OK, so my previous post. Tried to give a context to the event; the event being the Birmingham Beer Bash. Normally I try* to sprinkle my writing with wry, pithy prose. This post however, verges on mawkish sentimentality and I make. The mix of people was beautiful: young, old; male, female; beer geeks, beer novices; the enthusiastic, the curious. One of our first customers of the day was ...

Mediocre Beer Adventures: October 2012
http://mediocrebeeradventures.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Asserting Birmingham's right to good beer. Monday, 29 October 2012. Brum Beer Fest 2012 other stuff. The 2012 version of the Birmingham Beer Festival 2012 took place last week (24th-26th October). I attended on Friday and here are a few 'observations' (which is a posh way of saying that I'm going to tell you things about it). Allowing me to check in with a selection of friendly faces. This was obviously a massive pleasure. And Duvel Tripel Hop. And a Tyne Bank Southern Star. By about 9.00 on this Fri...

Mediocre Beer Adventures: The Birmingham Beer Bash (1) - The Build Up
http://mediocrebeeradventures.blogspot.com/2013/08/the-birmingham-beer-bash-1-build-up.html
Asserting Birmingham's right to good beer. Sunday, 4 August 2013. The Birmingham Beer Bash (1) - The Build Up. It won't (or will) have escaped your notice that I have become an absent blogger over the preceding 3 months. The reason for this is that I have been busy on the Birmingham Beer Bash, assisting my fellow team members in ensuring that it was a roaring success. This was a big collective effort, but was more than worth it. This event was the first time that the Birmingham Beer Bash team had ever me...
@Broadfordbrewer's Blog - Home
http://broadfordbrewery.weebly.com/index.html
Having had a recent reality check, the Broadford Brewery plans are on hold, but the dream of a brewery (any size) is still there. For now I'm concentrating on more brewing in the garage and plenty of beer blogging. Thanks for reading. Please note that I have moved my blog to Wordpress - http:/ broadfordbrewer.wordpress.com/. If you would be so kind as to update your links to my new blog address that would be great. Please check out my blog. Updated regularly with brewing and general beery musings!

For lovers of beer, campervans and Scotland…. Discovering beer in photos. The Tea Leaf Paradox. Discovering Beer in the Land of Whisky. A Grand of Ponies. March 3, 2014. To be or not to be’, that is not the question. On this occasion it was more ‘ B2 or not B2’. B2 is the ‘use class’ that one requires from the planning authority to open a brewery. Before applying (expensively) to the Council for this, I thought I’d check whether my premises were already B2. Sensible, huh? In Going into Orbit. Are you res...

Mediocre Beer Adventures: November 2012
http://mediocrebeeradventures.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Asserting Birmingham's right to good beer. Thursday, 15 November 2012. The Fetishization of Beer. (My). For a while now, I've realised that some of/perhaps most of the fun I get from beer, isn't actually always the beer itself. Very often I get a real buzz from all the peripheral stuff. I present the following evidence:. Ii) The sourcing, acquisition and discovery of beers. As often stated. That I am not the only. One who likes to. V) I talk endlessly about beer. Whenever I can, I do this with people...
