Maybe I need to have another talk with my financial adviser. I will paddle this year with these concrete and soft goals in mind. I will feel disappointed if I cannot get in the camping trips. I will not feel overly disappointed if I cannot reach my soft goals, although I will endeavour to reach them. I hope 2011 is a good kayaking year for everybody.

The word went out to gather troops for a camping trip in the Placentia Bay. The e-mails started going around for nearly a week. Clyde found a trip report by Peter Armitage on the club’s website and sent us all a picture of tents and kayaks on the shore of a place called Gulch Pond and dared us all to imagine ourselves there…. We kept resisting though.

We paddled today from South Dildo to Southern Point, then crossed over to. And then back to the put in; total of just over 22 kms by my. It was a beautiful sunny day with some wind, but we paddled mostly in the shelter from the west winds. I finally got to use my new camera. I got it on sale for just under 125 dollars, taxes in. Just gotta rock hop.
