First of all I kind of overlooked the fact that yesterday my average cost of skiing dropped below 10 bucks a day so this evening we had a belated celebration in the Griz Bar. Saturday, January 24, 2015. Day 51 spring skiing in January? Yes, today was full on spring skiing day of the type we usually get late March or early April and certainly not in January. The only problem is that when this usually happens we have a snow base of at least 3 metres so the hill can take it but now with a base of only 140 cms there has to be questions as to how long the hill can hold out. Saturday, February 7, 2015. Day 65 and today's conditions sucked a bit less than yesterday. We ran to base for lunch via Highline, Silver Lining and Summer Road which were all just about passable in the rapidly deteriorating conditions below the snow line. I exited via the Meadow and found huge areas of melted snow and uncovered ground - there can't be may days of skiing in this kind of weather left in that area. Posted by Bill Handley. Saturday, March 21, 2015. Day 107 a mixed day but overall pretty good. No new snow over night but also temps stayed well above zero in the valley and from the conditions we encountered I suspect that temps didn't get down to zero, or anything like it anywhere on the hill. Sunday, April 12, 2015. Day 128 ok, I'm a pussy twice over. We did a couple of White Pass loops which confirmed that the Gun Bowl was ugly refrozen crud and Quite Right was not much better. We down loaded for lunch. We just had time for two more icy Gun Bowl/High Line White Pass loops and it was time to down load again on Timber. As the party ran on tonight's report is late but probably not as late as tomorrow's which will follow on from celebrating last day of the season. Posted by Bill Handley.
