On Holyoke or thereabouts. Trash in Holyoke July 20, 2009. 8212; helloholyoke @ 9:02 pm. Trash in Holyoke is the subject of much discussion in my household. We create trash, we pick up discarded litter, we see huge trash trucks roll through our neighborhood daily. While I do not intend to weigh in on the transfer station issue, one quote from Scott Lemay in the recent Local Buzz article. What is the current trash policy in Holyoke? The City operates a bi-weekly recycling service for the same properties a...

BEST USE OF NATIVITY ON PORCH ROOF. Beech St, Holyoke. Unfortunately the nativy on the roof is totally bright bright in the photo cuz I don’t have a fancy $3k photo-taker. BEST USE OF PRISTINE UNTRAMPLED LAWN.

On Holyoke or thereabouts. Trash elsewhere March 25, 2009. 8212; helloholyoke @ 12:00 am. Originally uploaded by zerkahloostrah. We thought a lot about garbage and urban areas while we were outside of Holyoke. It appeared that most cities had a plan that involved these things in the photo. The far left receptacle is for dog waste only. 2 Responses to “trash elsewhere”. March 25, 2009 at 6:44 pm. I now have musical garbage truck envy. March 25, 2009 at 7:03 pm. Olde Holyoke, a crowd pleaser | canaltalk

On Holyoke or thereabouts. Olde Holyoke, a crowd pleaser January 9, 2009. 8212; helloholyoke @ 5:28 am. I was just catching up on the microlocal blogosphere and happily came across LenShare’s posting about FSA photographs. I then proceeded to search through the rest of our Library of Congress. From the safety and warmth of my own home. Found some gems. The structure on the left looks like an arcade! What I mean to say is, there’s a street there now. Pavement. Asphalt goodness. Dig the schoolgirl attire.

News, politics, and civic affairs from Northampton, Massachusetts. Thursday, July 9, 2009. Am hard at work publicizing a blog. Designed to unite communities nationwide that are confronting the prospect of hosting large-scale wood-burning biomass plants. Am collaborating with some folks who are working in Washington to fix HR 2454, AKA the Waxman-Markey Climate Bill. Kicker is, wood-burning biomass plants emit more CO2 per unit of energy produced than the worst coal plants. Don't believe it? This means th...

News, politics, and civic affairs from Northampton, Massachusetts. Friday, July 10, 2009. Public Comment, City Council, 070709. Here's public comment from Thursday night's city council meeting. Big questions: Should the landfill expansion go to the voters? Should the city of Northampton impose a local option meals tax? This is more fun to watch than to read about, so here y'are. On Holyoke or thereabouts. August 1, 2009. 8212; helloholyoke @ 9:13 pm. I started reading the City Council meeting agendas. A couple of years ago. At first the language that is used made my brain spin out of control, and…it still does. This week’s agenda is a big ‘un, since City Council. Sometimes the agendas are a bit of a snooze, but with an election just around the corner (you know, three months off) this week’s agenda has some bits that I like:. 60: While I personally loathe the PDF.
