Bethany's Edu. Blog: March 2010
http://bethanyv22.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 16, 2010. Traditional vs. Choice. I thought that the international student panel was very interesting and enlightening in class. We talked about topics such as a typical school day, homework, expectations, and assimulating. To me, the experience both of these students are having is amazing. I think teachers, administrators, parents, etc. should try and help students. To have a good work ethic because they know and want the benefits. Thursday, March 11, 2010. SoI decided to turn to my early...

Bethany's Edu. Blog: November 2008
http://bethanyv22.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 30, 2008. Sunday, November 23, 2008. I thought this movie was alright. I think it was good for future teachers to see because although these situations were made up and exaggerated, we could come across a colleague like one of these teachers. In my education history, I had a teacher who was a mix between Mr. Lowrey. Because he acted like he had no idea what he was doing and Mr. Stoope. Because he still tried to make the students believe he was the best teacher. I didn't receive. YouTube ...

Eric's Education of Education: October 2008

Eric's Education of Education. Tuesday, October 28, 2008. Mark London: Have We Reached the End of the Amazon. Tuesday, October 21, 2008. In class and know what they are learning; teachers facilitators, and are intentional and preplanned about what they are doing; teaching is about reaching all learners, not trying to fit students to bell curves; teachers are centered on the concepts of differentiation and individualism; and a connection with the kids-kids must know that the teachers care about them.

Bethany's Edu. Blog: NCLB and children with disabilities
http://bethanyv22.blogspot.com/2010/03/nclb-and-children-with-disabilities.html
Thursday, March 4, 2010. NCLB and children with disabilities. NCLB, what a popular topic! If I started talking about NCLB, the entire blog would be filled so I decided to focus on one aspect that I knew a little about which is special education students. I was placed in a 3rd and 4th grade special ed. classroom for my freshmen observation. I was there a month and was able to observe a lot about the students in my class. Reading about NCLB "Distracting Schools from Productive Reforms" in the article.

Eric's Education of Education: November 10th Panel
http://erykedpsych.blogspot.com/2008/11/november-10th-panel.html
Eric's Education of Education. Tuesday, November 11, 2008. I am very glad that we were able to have a panel with some parents from the Decorah community. All teachers will need to know how to work well with parents. I really like the way that one panelist put it that the teacher, the student, and the student's family are a team trying to get the student to learn. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Bethany's Edu. Blog: Chocolate Milk contest
http://bethanyv22.blogspot.com/2010/04/chocolate-milk-contest.html
Wednesday, April 7, 2010. After hearing about the chocolate milk contest that happened at the community school I attended, at first I was proud that my school had won! When looking at all the details, it appeared to be a bad idea. How does this become a bad idea? When I found out chocolate milk has just as much sugar as pop! Since our society likes to blame somebody for effects, who is to blame for all this sugar in the schools? So then does it come to the schools? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Bethany's Edu. Blog: February 2010
http://bethanyv22.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 25, 2010. Reflecting on article - "A How-to Plan for Widening the Gap" By Kim Marshall. Academically needy students have expanded learning time during and after schools, go to summer school, and have the materials and incentives needed to maximize learning outside school." After reading this passage, I immediately pictured this. Are these ways always best for the students? And how can the parents, community members, etc. help resolve the issue?
