Windsong Writing: January 2014

Sunday, January 26, 2014. Up until a few months ago, I was that person with the full Day-Timer. With something planned almost. Every evening and weekend. It was like every day someone said ‘on your mark, get set, GO! And I was off. This had gone on for decades and it seemed like it was working just fine. Then last year a strange thing happened. I hit a wall and it all came tumbling down. Where I used to be like Gumby. And could bend every which way (figuratively speaking! What have I learned so far?

Windsong Writing: August 2011

Tuesday, August 30, 2011. If it's almost September, we must need new school supplies. Ah, the smell of new loose-leaf, freshly sharpened pencils and new markers. It brings back memories of not only my own childhood but my children’s childhoods too. Doesn’t seem that long ago that our oldest child started school. Four years old, with braided pigtails and a brand new Little Mermaid backpack. Some things never change…now I just need to pick a backpack. :-). Tuesday, August 16, 2011. The soup wasn’t th...

Monday, July 30, 2012. Ohmigosh - I haven't posted anything since March. How time flies! Here we are on a hot midsummer's day - a perfect time to catch up. It's been a great year so far. Completed my CPM in June and was presented with a tiara from my wonderful accounting group at work. It sparkles! This past week, we caught up with family - lunch with Janet and Susan on Wednesday at Olive Garden - love their soup and salad lunch. Caught up on their news. Thursday was spent with my sister Anne - d...Ev an...

Sunday, April 14, 2013. Relay for Life – Connecting in the Community. It’s a great way to people watch and I was hoping that there might be one or two people who might truly be interested in learning about the Relay. By the time my shift was over, I was exhilarated by their energy and encouraged that not only was our Relay going to raise much needed funds to help fight cancer but our Tri-Regional event was going to also make a difference in our community. Interested in joining the fight? Twelve hours of ...

Wednesday, January 18, 2012. Of course this makes it difficult when we travel. Not eating sandwiches or wraps limits my options and in some instances, eliminates them altogether. I have been known to order a sandwich and simply eat the insides. On the rare occasion when I cave in and eat the bread, my body reminds me in no uncertain terms why I chose this dietary route. Like bathrooms, I now know every Starbucks from here to. And back. In June, we are visiting our daughter in. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Windsong Writing: December 2011
http://lynngale.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, December 24, 2011. Another clear and beautiful. Morning dawns. Although it is scant this winter, the thin layer of white snow sparkles in the sunlight, bringing to mind the picturesque scenes that Christmas cards are famous for. Our son is still at home and although we connect daily, Christmas affords us the time to slow down and take time to reconnect and remember, build new memories and enjoy time spent together. May your own Christmas Eve be bright and your Christmas Day be merry and filled ...

Tuesday, October 15, 2013. A Time for Being Grateful. This past weekend was Thanksgiving and we had three days of sunshine, brisk autumn breezes and colourful swirling cascades of leaves floating gently to the ground. A coat of many colours to dazzle us one more time in a mighty burst of glorious plumage. It was also amazing to walk into the bookstore and see the book on the shelves there, and know that my story lay tucked in its pages. My cup overfloweth…. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
