We ended up going back to Weatherford for an unexpected funeral and then decided that when we picked up the kids, we would take them back through Fredericksburg and let them get a taste of the town. They were really small the last time they went. We ate German food, shopped, went to church, and shopped some more. At the German Bakery. A pretty old Church. Anna making a wish. Making memories each and every day. Saturday, May 31, 2014. Today we headed to Mustang Island beach to kick off our summer vacation. It is about two hours away. I personally think the beach is great therapy. What is better than sand, water, sun and the smell of the ocean breeze? See all the seaweed? While I have been camping as a kid, the last time I camped was with some friends in Midland just before Alan and I moved to Fort Worth for the first time. I did not enjoy roughing it. Making memories each and every day. Wednesday, March 12, 2014. I certainly needed this break. I did absolutely nothing on Saturday. Alan had a track meet and the kids and I stayed in our PJ's all day and were just lazy. Yesterday, my In-laws came to see us and today we took them to Corpus Christi to walk the beach, eat seafood and visit the USS Lexington. Every time we tried to go back, a storm was brewing in Corpus or someone came down sick or we needed to save money or Alan and I were just too tired. Making memories each and every day. Sunday, August 3, 2014. Cheerleading Camp and Football Camp. Andrew and Anna had the opportunity to participate in some camps at the school recently. Anna was so excited about cheer camp and she took it seriously. She came home each day and practiced all afternoon. Her Dad of course, was not too pleased. At their end of camp performance, I noticed Alan was smiling but turning a nice shade of red due to him not liking all of this cheer stuff. World's largest Duck Call.
