Besalú is situated 10 minutes from Can Jan in the area of La Garrotxa at the point where two rivers, the Fluvia and the Capellades meet. The town features arcaded streets and squares and also a restored mikveh, a ritual Jewish bath dating from the eleventh or twelfth century, as well as the remains of a medieval synagogue, located in the lower town near the river. Besalú also hosts the Museum of miniatures created by jeweler and art collector Lluís Carreras. Designed by Andrew Gale.

The large (10x15m) and deep (1.5-3m) pool is a short stroll across the lawn from the house. The pool area contains sun loungers and al-fresco showers. The pool house includes a wood fired BBQ, eating area, table tennis, toilet room, sink and fridge/freezer and a day bed. No Lifeguard on Duty. Persons using pool do so at their own risk.
