Gingersnaps with Tea: July 2006
http://gingersnapswtea.blogspot.com/2006_07_01_archive.html
I write all the time These are my thoughts on knitting, reading, loosing weight, dating and single parenthood-not always in that order. Remember, it isn't what happens- it's how you react! Sunday, July 23, 2006. Hot, Hot, HOT! It's July and Calgary. Is Cookin'. Too hot to Knit (my X use to say too hot to do something else but we won't talk about that). It's sleeping in undies and a tank top with no covers and the fan going full blast weather. Even the dog is too hot to move. I know he loves his son, it d...

Sunday, May 28, 2006. I bet you're wondering about that date. I want to say "Suck it Up SweetPea! See I am not all sweetness and light there's this whole other black hearted, witch queen lurking under the surface and the longer I am on my own, the more I turn to the dark side. It ain't pretty. Monday, October 30, 2006. Toe Up Class Starts Tonight! I am so excited! So I have been a busy, dedicated knitter this past week. Sticking to my WIP's, not starting anything new. That should be enough to finish the bottom of the sweater, sleeves and trim. I am picking up the yarn for my boy's Top Down Henley. The boy bo...

Friday, October 20, 2006. Update and a thank you. First, I would like to thank Karen, and others before her, who have walked into various yarn shops and told the owners that they really should carry my yarns. Such personal recommendations carry great weight, and I sincerely appreciate it. Other than knitting plain socks, I have been working full tilt in my studio, dyeing up my new sock yarns. I have my eye on one of the colors for a sweater. But that's for after the Ottoman. Posted by Virginia @ 7:22 PM.

Monday, September 18, 2006. The house jacket that was abandoned way back in March. I have felt like a master origami artist these last two days. I folded my jacket this way and that way, and then turned it around and folded it the other way. This is the result. I particularly like the way the front facings now form a decorative element, as do the cast off armhole edges you can see in the photo below. Posted by Virginia @ 6:09 PM. Another super recycling project. you are on a roll! V and A Knitting.
Painted Yarns Blog
http://paintedyarns.blogspot.com/2006/09/recycled-bolster.html
Thursday, September 14, 2006. This week I recognized it for what it was: an abandoned project. I pulled the needle out, and decided it was time to recycle. I folded it this way and that, and decided it would make a good bolster, and more important, it was something I could use. First step was to wash it, and when dry, give it a light pressing. Stuffing? What better for a recycling project than an old sweater, full of pills, that I only wore around the house. I rolled it up, and it fit. Along the way, I e...

Friday, August 18, 2006. I did a little playing today and knit this. There is a class coming up next month where we will be doing colorwork on mittens. Mittens are smaller than sweaters, need I say more? I found the current Piecework magazine yesterday and saw that Nancy Bush had an Estonian mitten in it. Exactly what was needed. I cast on last night, started it, played around with various yarns to get the right gauge, and knitted away. I would never have willingly undertaken an Estonian sock. I am n...

Just another WordPress.com weblog. A Slow Down in the Classroom. November 12, 2007. Filed under: ED 331. 8212; canknight @ 4:10 am. I can breath a large sigh of relief. I have completed my “required” teaching for GVSU and am now team teaching, or doing the lessons I find to be very interesting. I turned in my Unit Plan and thought I was slightly ahead of the game, but this next week is still more packed than ever. 8221;, and obviously my answer is no. I know I was always on the ball:). CANK | Concerned with the unrealisable.
CANK is concerned with the unrealisable. We use microtonal turbulence to explore outer and inner limits of existing and imaginary cityscapes. Our attempts to bring balance to the opposing forces of structure and noise lead us on strangely compulsive excursions and ever faltering recursions. We have been described as 'quixotic'. We unleash those visceral and propulsive energies locked up in trains and buildings, and our sound is rooted in broken traditions of Dada and musique concréte.
