Not Just Another Canning Blog. Who is this guy? June 19, 2012. I have been using Neem Oil lately to control blight, Septoria Leaf Spot and hornworms on my tomatoes. I decided that chemicals and pesticides were not anything I wanted to chance eating, so I’m trying organic methods this year. I must say I’m pleasantly surprised at the results…maybe better than chemicals. I used Garden Safe Brand Neem Oil that I purchased from Lowes. Laquo; Previous post. Next post ». Not Just Another Canning Blog. Who is this guy? June 18, 2012. Blueberries came in early this year, and in a matter of hours I have over 2 gallons of blueberries. Most will be frozen (do not wash first, just pick and freeze…this will reduce the ice build up in the bag), but a few were turned into Blueberry Jam. I used the Ball Complete Home Canning Guide version:. 8 cups whole blueberries – Crush them, and you will end up with 4 1/2 cups crushed. 2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice. 1/2 tsp butter (kills the foam).
