Who The Hell Am I? So I’ve decided to stop reporting stories since frankly I don’t have the time to make this my #1 blog to update and since it doesn’t pay me, well you know why it doesn’t win. Instead I will focus more on opinion pieces like the wildly popular ‘cunts’ series. I will still focus mainly on MLS and soccer in the US though. New article coming up. Responses to “site update”. Who The Hell Am I? Who The Hell Am I? I post often on various soccer and sports blogs, normally under the name ‘papa bear’ so you may have seen me around. I have been following the game for over 20 years now and love it above all. I am a fan of MLS (Chicago Fire) and the USMNT. The team I first came to love (and still love watching) is Bayern München and also have an affinity for Barcelona (had to stick with teams that are in line with my ancestry and parents descent after all🙂 ). Who The Hell Am I? More people than ever are watching soccer on TV in the US…time to cut newspaper coverage.what? US ratings for soccer football. A huge number of people tuned into this past weekends Euro 2008 final and the DC United vs. Galaxy match that preceeded it. (3.76 million and 1.2 million viewers respectively.). I was deeply critical of MLS for allowing a game to kick off at 9am PST when one of the teams playing is from California but the numbers were pretty good with that difficulty. However, ...

Football Down Under and Beyond: Brisbane finally gets the Final
http://downunderfootball.blogspot.com/2011/03/brisbane-finally-gets-final.html
Football Down Under and Beyond. A blog about the love of Soccer from an Australian, Roarcentric perspective. Go Brisbane Roar! Sunday, March 06, 2011. Brisbane finally gets the Final. The last time I wrote about the A-League or the Brisbane Roar was April last year. The short of what I had to say then was, "the Brisbane Roar cannot repeat its original seduction of this consumer. This time they're going to have to realise a product that is worth it for me to seek out.". The Grand Final is anyone's game.

Football Down Under and Beyond: Desperation Beginning

Football Down Under and Beyond. A blog about the love of Soccer from an Australian, Roarcentric perspective. Go Brisbane Roar! Wednesday, September 20, 2006. I've searched for an independent football blog with an Australian perspective. The best I've found is The Soccer Squirrel. Which claims to be exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately its contributors appear to have abandoned the project since the World Cup ended, which is a great shame. They're my humble qualifications. I'm a tragic though,...

Football Down Under and Beyond. A blog about the love of Soccer from an Australian, Roarcentric perspective. Go Brisbane Roar! Thursday, October 05, 2006. Oz Football Bloggery Review. This blog, I did so in the honest but naive belief that there just wasn't any ongoing football bloggery going on, and hence I determined to fill the space, however unqualified I was. I even gave myself the following sunset clause:. Has a very active blog, as do the Fairfax papers SMH ( Flog. And The Age ( Balls Up. With the...

Football Down Under and Beyond. A blog about the love of Soccer from an Australian, Roarcentric perspective. Go Brisbane Roar! Thursday, July 22, 2010. I think a lot about South Africa, and what it has done. There is rightly an impression that South Africa must be a bit backward politically, that. In 1994 it shrugged off institutional racism. But as a microcosm of the World it seems to me that it is the first not the last. Meanwhile any interplanetary visitor would be reporting back to its people that Ea...

Football Down Under and Beyond. A blog about the love of Soccer from an Australian, Roarcentric perspective. Go Brisbane Roar! Saturday, October 29, 2011. 7:1 win vs Adelaide last night. Oh yes oh yes oh yes. Ra ra ra. We actually are the best in the World and everyone else is, slowly but surely, learning to live with it. The question being repeated everywhere is, how come only eleven and a half thousand people saw one of the greatest football spectacles we might expect to see in club football? So now we...

Football Down Under and Beyond: How good can it get?
http://downunderfootball.blogspot.com/2011/10/why-on-earth-would-anyone-want-to.html
Football Down Under and Beyond. A blog about the love of Soccer from an Australian, Roarcentric perspective. Go Brisbane Roar! Tuesday, October 18, 2011. How good can it get? How good can it get for a Brisbane Roar fan? I'll briefly outline how good it is. 1 We have the best coach in Australia. I read around and come across this sentiment often, along with frequent speculations that he will be Australia's next coach. Behind The Roar. I guess I'll give my views on that by and by as well. 5 We have hit the...
