inertia is a sin: March 2006

Inertia is a sin. Thursday, March 30, 2006. The B div made it to the quarter finals. Something to celebrate about. Now the next grouping is not going to be easy but if we manage to clear that, things will be easier. Good thing is I feel that this team can is capable of achieving much more and that they are growing game by game. They are in good hands too. Things should be fine. http://chengpuay.blogspot.com/2005_12_01_archive.html
Inertia is a sin. Wednesday, December 28, 2005. Hang on a second. New Year 'delayed' by leap second. I need 2 more weeks actually, still got lots to finish before the year starts. Well, that means I'll come crashing into 2006 riding on a huge snowball. What a ride. Realised I have blogged quite a fair bit, have to thank otterman. For dragging me, kicking and screaming, into this fascinating exercise. How do one face the coming year? Will you be a butterfly or a silkworm? What does the picture stand for?

Inertia is a sin. Sunday, August 28, 2005. Being in green again (2 weeks). Nothing like a good war movie to set one in the mood. Actually I don't mind going for in camp training. It is a must and beside, one get to visit good, relatively undisturbed forests (well some parts actually, provided the plants are not used for camouflaging). Just hope I will be able to catch up with my work when I finish training. Posted by chengpuay at 1:18:00 PM. Friday, August 26, 2005. Last words for a while. Fruits. Th...

http://chengpuay.blogspot.com/2005_10_01_archive.html
Inertia is a sin. Friday, October 28, 2005. Almost to the end. Finally finished up most of the administrative matters needed for end of year reports. These 2 weeks has been intense. Had some inkling of my roles and deployment next year. The projects brainstormed are really exciting. Hope to find good teams to carry them out. May have to forgo some things next year, which is depressing actually, because it'll be nice to be with them as they grow. But I guess I need to do what is given. I'll tell you that.

Inertia is a sin. Thursday, September 29, 2005. Ant movement as model for data traffic in computer networks. Another trick to learn from nature. Ants re-route themselves when the path they tread on becomes too crowded. And this regulatatory system could serve as a model for managing data flow in networks. Chanced upon a rare sighting of this keystone mangrove species aka mud lobster Thalassina anomala. 1 sunny afternoon. Consider us lucky, unlucky for the poor lobster as it was badly entangled in some string most probably discarded by some irresponsible bugger. Thanks to a sharp eyed student, we managed to free the crustacean! Without these shy little cr...
