For most of my adult life, I’ve thought all runners were completely mad. Why would you do that to yourself, and everyone else? But mixed with the distaste, there was a persistent thought ‘I could do that – If I wanted to, I can put one foot in front of another…it’s not hard is it – just fast walking?
