Canuck Craft: January 2010
http://canuckcraft.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
My craft projects and some that I WISH I'd done. Wednesday, January 20, 2010. January in Ottawa is cold, dark and grey. I need to infuse some colour into my crafting. Here's my inspiration for this week:. I'm using these nautical flags as a start point to a new project. They are so chipper and bright. I think there's a fun project to be done with spelling out words with them. Links to this post. Saturday, January 16, 2010. Oooh, broken promises! Well, that was clearly not the truth. So, here I am. Here a...
Canuck Craft: Wow!
http://canuckcraft.blogspot.com/2010/03/wow.html
My craft projects and some that I WISH I'd done. Tuesday, March 2, 2010. What a crazy week. I can't BE-lieve my pompom flowers were featured on Apartment Therapy. Like, are you kidding me? This blog usually get about, oh, 5 visits a week and, let's just say there were many more this week. So, first off, let me give some late credit to Domestifluff. While I used Poopscape Projects. The Model and the Flower. Throw in a few tablespoons of vegetable oil and a tablespoon of cream of tartar (for stretchy-ness).
Canuck Craft: Mama's got a brand new (felt) bag
http://canuckcraft.blogspot.com/2010/05/mamas-got-brand-new-felt-bag.html
My craft projects and some that I WISH I'd done. Monday, May 31, 2010. Mama's got a brand new (felt) bag. In between selling our current house, buying our future house and planning Mr Canuck's 36 day work trip, the crafting-life has fallen by the wayside. Egged on by my caregivers request for a donated item for a charity auction I started to seek inspiration. It didn't take long to find this picture circulating on the ol' crafty sites:. Now, many sites, like Craft. Just print out the darn pattern). It's ...

Canuck Craft: December 2009
http://canuckcraft.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
My craft projects and some that I WISH I'd done. Monday, December 21, 2009. I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am about this post. The fact that I'm typing this up means that it all came to fruition in a wonderful way. I have two little boys, aged 3 1/2 and 1 1/2. They are avid readers (or being read-to-ers, I suppose) and one of their very favourite books is " Jumpy Jack and Googily. Question, she is my answer. Him to my kids on Christmas morning) is that this gave me an excuse to write Ms....

DIY Yarn and Twig Dandelions. DIY Yarn and Twig Dandelions. Feb 26, 2010. We recently stumbled upon this quick and easy DIY. We love the contrast between the yarn and the real twigs as well as the fact that these dandelions won't wilt nor will they leave florets all over your house. Don't limit yourself to white yarn.we have a bag full of yarn that will add some great pops of color to our faux arrangement. Posted the dandelion idea following instructions found at Poopscape Projects. Tell us about it!
Capital Mummy: Sorry, sorry, sorry...
http://chuckwagonsworld.blogspot.com/2010/08/sorry-sorry-sorry.html
Monday, August 09, 2010. Sorry, sorry, sorry. I am moving after all! The last week has been packing, cleaning, organizing and running a garage sale and hosting a going away party for 40. Forgive the lack o' posts. I leave for good a week today, so not much time for blogging and taking pictures. I managed to get these ones the other day when the boys were laughing, rocking and taking apart chair cushions. Or, should I say, 'cute' until Charley turns into a piggy-pirate. "Oink, mateys! Small Town, Canada.
Capital Mummy: Doesn't this just make you tired??
http://chuckwagonsworld.blogspot.com/2010/07/doesnt-this-just-make-you-tired.html
Wednesday, July 28, 2010. Doesn't this just make you tired? It's a million degrees and these crazy kids just want to jump off ye olde vintage couch onto the beanbag chair. It's now a dare-devil sport where they see how far away they can move the chair and still land on it. Good times. Also: Sam hasn't actually turned into a eunuch-ed Ken-doll.I was just protecting his shame, after shaming him with the hair-do photos. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Small Town, Canada. Capital Mummy: When hairbrushes attack! (or: Is it just time for a haircut?)
http://chuckwagonsworld.blogspot.com/2010/07/when-hairbrushes-attack-or-is-it-just.html
Friday, July 23, 2010. Or: Is it just time for a haircut? My hair is very, very straight. I am not one of the family members bestowed 'body' in the hair department. I do know, however, that it's a bad idea to brush one's curly hair when it's dry. There's a poof-phenomenon that occurs. my sister Sarah has taught me that. So, the point: When Sammy found a hairbrush the other day (in the house, I mean. not on the street! I couldn't resist messing with his hair. And my personal favourite:. Small Town, Canada.
Capital Mummy: Still alive!
http://chuckwagonsworld.blogspot.com/2010/08/still-alive.html
Friday, August 20, 2010. A long, long week, my friends. You know how you always read that moving your family tops the list of stressful life events? I think Chris and I are just looking forward to the return of usual chaos. Totally, totally crazy. There's a reason people stay in the same house/town forever. The worst is over, in terms of stress/craziness/packing/unpacking and now we can get into the new routine of school/daycare/renovations/etc. Doesn't. That much less stressful, but I'm hopeful.
Capital Mummy: The End. And the Beginning.
http://chuckwagonsworld.blogspot.com/2010/08/end-and-beginning.html
Monday, August 23, 2010. The End. And the Beginning. This week, as you might know, has been quite a busy time. Well. this week, this month, this year. We're in a new town, with two new residences (one temporary, one permanent) and a new vision for our lives. I'm mourning some of the parts of Ottawa life, namely people I'm missing, but I'm equally excited about what we're starting here. It seemed, therefore, like an appropriate time to start a new blog. More concise, non? Hope to see you there.
Capital Mummy: Weekend escape
http://chuckwagonsworld.blogspot.com/2010/08/weekend-escape.html
Tuesday, August 03, 2010. We felt the need to escape the craziness of the house this weekend, so we did a day trip to Perth and Smiths Falls, about an hour south of Ottawa. It was a great break and reminded us of all the reasons we are moving to a small town. And we went to the train museum! Riverside, in Perth. A serious strut for a 2 year old. Dare I say, Charley's favourite part was the train table (nothing like the familiar! And Daddy's favourite part was the napping. No shame, that one.
Capital Mummy: Dear, sweet Hannah
http://chuckwagonsworld.blogspot.com/2010/08/dear-sweet-hannah.html
Monday, August 16, 2010. Dear, sweet Hannah. This is a short post, as I'm actually leaving town this morning. FOREVER! Okay, that's a bit dramatic. I know I'll be back! But I will be a visitor after today.). Also, elaborating on the subject will cause me to start crying again and I have a long drive ahead of me this morning. Thanks Hannah. We miss you already. xo. Thanks, Uncle Phil, for taking some beautiful photos. Smooooooooooooch. Ok, these made ME cry! Cant Hannah just come live with you!

My perspective on real hockey. The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. Believing in Blue. Eating at Aquilini-owned Pizza Huts. Hearing ringing in our ears since 1994. Or, loosely translated, holy shit. I'm the friend she bought a mug for Christmas for. I'll return to the worst person's format anyway, because it's fun, and clearly the worst persons in hockey today are all the writers who won't say a damn thing about what the Russians have done in the 2011 World Juniors. If it were Canada, it'd be replayed on TSN for years. Links to this post. It's a Visa commercial, narrated...

The Canuck Critick
Sunday, September 07, 2014. Who says a movie needs to be dark and edgy, filled with conflict, heartbreak and drama, to be taken seriously? Sure those can be quite the brain food and a good watch as well (Chris Nolan's filmography comes to mind) but can't a heartfelt uplifting movie with nothing nasty to say reach a spot on the same shelf? Although truth be told, one could read a bird being defiantly flipped between the lines of this feel-good food fest. Why the f* k are they all pouring ice on themselves?
