Er oppvokst under Lyngsalpene i Troms fylke. Etter en periode i fiskebåten og som sjømann i utenriks, utdannet han seg til politimann. Han er i den heldige situasjonen at han blir pensjonist i ung alder i slutten av 2008. Roger har en flott sønn, Vegard. Som bor i Tromsø. Vegard er 27 år og jobber i et vaktselskap. På Canyon Huskies er det alltid behov for kennelhjelp. For den som har lyst å være handler hos oss 2014/15 og lære mye hundekjøring med mange flotte naturopplevelser så er det bare å ta kontakt.

Come and share an hour or so with us and our Alaskan Huskies. Hear about the special relationship between musher and dog. See the sleds, harnesses, arctic clothing and gear. Have some coffee or tea in our timber hut while we tell you about long distance sled dog racing and training. Every afternoon about 6 pm (18.00h) we welcome you for a kennel tour and demonstration of a dog team (groups minimum of 10 persons). Price pr person: 175,- NOK. Price pr person: 450,- NOK. Torsdag 17. mars 2011. Mange sofamushere fikk nok kaffen i halsen da Roger sitt GPS-symbol stoppet opp like etter Jotka sjekkpunkt, undertegnde inkludert. Roger forteller selv at det var en "liten parkering", men at det. Går bra nå. Novva ble satt ut på sjekkpunktet, og han kjører videre med 7 hunder. Roger oppmuntrer hundene til å gå mot Alta. Lørdag 19. mars 2011. Premiesermonien ble gjennomført i målområdet i strålende sol og med god stemning. Finnmarksløpets cheerleadere Gro Anett og Hanne varmer opp publikum. Blir nok ikke lenge før Ekran tar det siste steget på pallen. Roger fortalte hvor taknemlig og ydmyk han var for det store oppmøtet av folk under målgangen og under premiesermonien i dag. Er Roger Dahl og 30 glade arbeidsvillige Alaskan Huskies. Roger har mer enn 30 års erfaring som hundekjører. Roger har konkurrert innen langdistanse hundekjøring siden han startet i sitt første Finnmarksløp i 1983. Han har vunnet åpen klasse - 1000 km i 1992, 2005 og 2011. Deltagelse i de lange hundeløpene er blitt en livsstil for Roger. I tillegg til Finnmarksløpet kjører han også Femundløpet og Pasvik Trail hvert år.
