Fred L. Baker. Mariah is Cape Cod Shipbuilding's. 8th Mercer as is currently owned by Edward and Joan Gorman. She was initially owned by Roger Blanchette and was named Indianola. She lived in Marion Massachusetts where Odyssey. And Hawke were sister ships in Marion. The Watsons and Vineyards enjoyed a couple of summers sailing up in Maine aboard their Mercers. Hawke was near the mouth of the harbor in Marion and was quite a sight for sure. Hope to have some pictures of her soon.

She was actually the 1st one to be sold however which has caused some confusion with Ensis (now Wandering Aengus). Who was sold 2nd but is in fact the first hull from Cape Cod Ship. She was named "Orpheus" by Alex Vietor from New Haven, CT and Florida. At some point she was sold to D. Woods and renamed "Rio". Designed and maintained by Gray Watson.
