To find us from the M4 motorway,. Leave the M4 at Junction 24. Take the A449 towards Monmouth. Take the A40 towards Abergavenny. Take the A465 towards Hereford. From the A465, take the left turn signposted Llanvihangel Crucorney. Immediately past the Skirrid pub turn left towards Llanthony. Pass through Llanthony and follow the sign to Capel-Y-Ffin. Take the immediate left at Capel-Y-Ffin, continue for approximately 1/4 mile and take the next left and follow the road around to the Monastery.

Contact and Prices Directions. Weekends, Weeks and Midweek bookings available. Guests are asked not to arrive before 4pm and to leave by 11am on the day of departure for weekly bookings. Guests may arrive earlier on weekends and midweeks and may stay on until the evening of the day of departure by prior arrangement. Well behaved dogs welcomed. History and Accomodation Contact and Prices. The Monastery was built in 1870 by Father Ignatious to restore monastic life to the Church of England and was used as a monastery for over 40 years. In 1924 the monastery was bought by stone carver, engraver and typeface designer Eric Gill. David Jones, the Welsh artist and writer was also a regular visitor. The Monastery now offers comfortable family accomodation with direct access to endless walks with breathtaking views. You are welcome to contact us.
