Caples Lake Resort Blog. SUSTAINABLE ENERGY – NREL WEBSITE. JUNE 19, 2009. After trying out several models, we settled on this one. It’s not producing as much power as the solar panels, but it is producing. Surprisingly, the winds here are not as strong as we had hoped. Other big news here is concerning our alternative energy system we are installing. Our solar panels are up and running and we are in testing mode for our new wind turbine.
