Braceface - smokingtoaster
http://smokingtoaster.livejournal.com/11373.html
April 4th, 2008. Back in July I decided to get braces. Although my teeth are reasonably straight, I've always had one that really seemed to me to stick out (top, left side), so I talked to my new dentist about getting braces. She also does brace work, and my dental insurance covers most of it, and I was given a 6-9 month estimate for the total amount of time the work would take. My second appointment was after 4 weeks, but virtually every other appointment has been at two week intervals! Since I got preg...

David the Purple Monster - smokingtoaster. September 18th, 2008. David the Purple Monster. Last night I made up my first bedtime story ever. Was at band practice for the evening, and I had to put the kids to bed, but I was too exhausted to read any bedtime stories for Mr. E. So we just turned off the light, and I started babbling, "Once upon a time .". I repeated the story, as requested, and both. And I told it a few more times this morning. I don't think that. August 3rd, 2008. We've been talking about this for a while, but last week our attempt to get one was stymied by getting to the Apple store too late due to Mr. E's music class. By too late, I mean before noon on a Saturday. But this morning,. Did not opt for the iPhone, as he's planning to get an Android-based smart phone whenever they finally come out. Here's a cute conversation I had with Mr. E. this morning after he discovered Daddy was not at home:. Me: Daddy went out. MrE: (To) Buy more nectarines?

Now That's What I Call Direct Marketing - smokingtoaster. March 24th, 2009. Now That's What I Call Direct Marketing. Sometimes it feels like. And I are the only people on Earth who don't own a Wii. Even our friends who only have toddler-aged kids, like us, own one. Neither of us are terribly excited by video games ( Wetrix. Excluded), but now I think the makers of Wii are trying hard to convert the last remaining video game luddites on the planet. Behold, Trivial Pursuit for Wii. Comments: Leave a comment.

We miss you, Daddy! September 5th, 2008. We miss you, Daddy! My crazy weekend has been in progress for less than two hours, and already I feel pretty tired. This week was my first week back at work after maternity leave. Started his paternity leave on Tuesday, but tonight he left for a weekend in Canada. We're in the tail end of a heatwave right now, but we've got plans to visit with friends over the weekend, so I hope the time will just fly by and before we know it,. Will be walking in the door.

Only Occasionally Talking About Poop. Lately every time I tell. That we need to go and get something, he says, "We need more Calgon! It makes me giggle. But as expected, it also makes me feel really, really old, as it references a famous commercial that our kids have never heard of. Hell, I bet. Haven't even heard of it. Did you know that the youngest contestant on American Idol was born in 1992? I bet he doesn't even know what "Where's the beef? I can't believe I'm actually getting a little nostalgic fo...

W is for Who - TurtleHead
http://turtle-head.livejournal.com/165247.html
Only Occasionally Talking About Poop. W is for Who. We just picked up the new Barenaked Ladies CD for kids, called Snack Time. It's totally adorable. My favourite song on it is called "Crazy ABCs," in which Ed goes through the alphabet saying unusual words for each letter - "aisle" for A, "czar" for C, "psychosis" for P, that sort of thing. The best one is X:. Ed: X is for Xian, an ancient Chinese City. Steve: Ancient Chinese City, eh? My guitar player, some hotshot. Not two months ago. Ha! Watching the ...
