Mestre Marcelo Angola was born in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. He began practicing Capoeira Angola in August 1985, at Mestre Curio’s school located in Pelourinho, Salvador, Bahia. Pelourinho is the cradle and center of the Capoeira Angola world. Mestre Marcelo Angola received the title of trenel (trainer) in 1990; afterwards,in 1994, was named Contra-mestre; and finally, in 1999, he was recognized as Mestre. Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian mix of dance, fight, music, song, tradition, theatre, and more. The game of capoeira is played in a circle or ‘roda’ to the sound of the ‘bateria’ (a sort of capoeira orchestra). A Capoeira Angola bateria has the following instruments: Berimbau (gunga, media e viola), Pandeiro, Agogo, Reco-reco and Atabaque. The bateria plays the music and sing the songs which give rhythm and energy to the players. Come and try Capoeira – it’s good for your body, mind and soul!

Por mais que eu adore isso aqui, não estou mais conseguindo cumprir o objetivo de trazer muita informação fresquinha para os capoeiras. Isso porque minha vida mudou muito desde que criei este blog.
