Trek gaming geekery - Roland's Journal
http://rolandx.livejournal.com/31465.html
Worlds Finest: Animated Adventures. My Xbox gamer card. I'll be playing an Andorian security officer in our local gaming group fairly soon. Not only has me more excited for ST than I've been since I was a pre-teen watching Classic Trek, but I've developed his past to an absurd degree (I just wrote a vignette for when he was *nine*). Happy Roland. :-). Hope is a phoenix. 25th-Sep-2010 12:40 am (UTC). Leave a Comment to the Entry. This page was loaded Nov 13th 2016, 12:25 am GMT.

The basic facts of infinite realities. 11 January 2012 @ 06:49 pm. Complete Book-Up, or "This Tastes Terrible! I'm pretty sure I've just read the second-worst story David Weber has ever written. It's called "Out of the Dark," it's a novella-length contribution to George R.R. Martin and Gardner Dozois's Warriors. Anthology from a few years ago, and consists entirely of 4.5 tropes I don't like. There are spoilers behind the cut, but since I'm actively telling you not to read it, I imagine nobody cares.

Sold a (very, very, very) short story... - rhinogirl

Sold a (very, very, very) short story. February 11th, 2010. To Thaumatrope, a twitter magazine for science fiction, fantasy, and horror fiction under 140 characters. This was really fun to do: I enjoy the challenge of condensing a story down to its bare essence. You can see what kind of stuff they publish on Twitter at @thaumatrope or on the web at thaumatrope.greententacles.com/. It's a Valentine's Day-themed story that involves candy hearts and nanotechnology. ;-) It will be out on Feb. 14th.

The world is full of power and energy and a person can go far by just skimming off a tiny bit of it. The world can be yours. You just have to want it badly enough. 01:03 pm June 1st, 2008. Any Houdini fans out there? Click the picture to go to the artist's blog, where he's selling that one and a bunch of other neat comic-book art. Very Mike Mignola-ish, I dig it. The artist is the same guy who did the Watchmen/Peanuts one-shot. Abney Park - Stigmata Martyr. 10:15 pm May 8th, 2008. It looks to me like a b...

Tanuki's Wacky Samurai Cinema Review: '47 Ronin': neo_tanuki
http://neo-tanuki.livejournal.com/514145.html
Tanuki's Wacky Samurai Cinema Review: '47 Ronin'. I had a great deal of trepidation going into this film- U.S. critics have savaged it. But it's a samurai film, taking one of the famous tales of Japanese folklore/history, AND combining it with supernatural elements. How could I not go see it, good or bad? NOTE: There are some spoilers ahead if you aren't familiar with the historical events '47 Ronin' is based on. I'm just warning you here. ;P. And the special effects look really good. The cast includ...

What it's really like. Dec 18th, 2007 at 10:44 AM. The following is by Roger Ebert, from a review. Of a movie that's probably very worthy but that I'm not at all interested in watching called "Starting Out in the Evening." The first two paragraphs I've included are to set the background. The third is the one I love, because the last sentence really hits what writing is like. (In my case poetry rather than novels, but it still rings true.). 2 comments Leave a comment.
