Scrabbling in Red Sox Nation. The ugly list - hebdomad. 09:52 am March 8th, 2012. I'm currently working with a couple of kids who'll be competing in the School Scrabble Championships. My own ugl...

Jun 3rd, 2013 at 9:31 AM. Meritocracies may be fairer and more efficient than some alternatives. But fair in an absolute sense? Think about it. A meritocracy is a system in which the people who are the luckiest in their health and genetic endowment; luckiest in terms of family support, encouragement, and, probably, income; luckiest in their educational and career opportunities; and luckiest in so many other ways difficult to enumerate- these are the folks who reap the largest rewards. October 3rd, 2012. Recently posted a fun State Abbreviations Puzzle. Conrad and I had fun solving it together, and I thought a similar puzzle would be cool to try. First, go try Nick's puzzle if you haven't already, and then try this, which is just the same puzzle with backwards state abbreviations (e.g. OR becomes RO). Forgetting about the 34 total twos and threes, we'll go on to the meatier stuff. Can you find the one abbreviation with corresponding seven letter word? Abbreviation in white: CD.
