News from Cornish Councils. From January 1st, 2004 legislation allows for elected parish councillors to receive an allowance to recompense them for the costs incurred in working on behalf of the parish or town. They are also entitled to claim travel and subsistance for work on behalf of the Council both in and outside of the parish. The Cornwall County Remuneration Panel met on June 1st, 2004 and its report and recommendations on levels of allowances is published on June 16th, 2004. Who's Who at the CAPTC.
