Specializing in salt water fly fishing. Thursday, June 3, 2010. It is old news now, but the bass fishing at the mouth of the Connecticut River is excellent. We have had numerous outstanding outings, catching and releasing lots of fish between 26" and 33". There are plenty of bigger fish. A friend landed a 42" bass from shore a week ago. Thursday, March 11, 2010. The spring run off is always the unknown. The best scenario is a slow and steady melt off in the mountains of Vermont and New Hampshire....One, ...

Specializing in salt water fly fishing. Wednesday, July 22, 2009. The spring bass run is over. Due to abnormal cool and cloudy weather we got two extra weeks. Though not consistent, the Connecticut River produced good bass fishing in early July. Many anglers had given up on the river thus reducing the annoying boat traffic to a minimum. Quiet waters are very important for successful bass fishing in shallow waters of 3 to 6 feet - typical Connecticut River conditions. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Specializing in salt water fly fishing. Saturday, May 23, 2009. When you are out on the water don't forget to take your Big Eye polarized sunglasses. They will help you see those big bass swirl under your lure. You can get them at many New England tackle shops or by going to bigeyeeyewear.com. May 26, 2009 at 3:44 PM. Love to see a picture of that 36" fish, that had to be an awesome one to catch. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Please visit www.captdixon.com. And www.bigeyeeyewear.com.

Specializing in salt water fly fishing. Thursday, April 30, 2009. Friday, April 24, 2009. The schoolies have arrived in the lower Connecticut River. Their numbers are such that you can hook and land enough to make the outing worth while. Most remain small - 12 to 16", but there is the occasional fish in the mid 20's. Friday, April 17, 2009. Coming Soon!

Capt Dicks Wieners has been a dream of mine for many years. My goal is to open a premium hot dog shop in a tourist location. Preferably ocean front (or bay front) in one of my favorite vacation spots, Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Any resort area that has a weekly tourist turnover would be ideal. Maybe, one day my dream will come true.
