A beautiful house, full of art, song and great conversation. HP, Grey Lynn. The temptations at the table are exquisite! With smiles and huge breakfasts and a song - you can't go wrong. Beautiful home and gorgeous views! And the bed - fantastic. Everything was good except the Goods, they were better! The best B&B I've stayed in - wonderful hosts. Great art, lovely people. The little homely touches much appreciated.

Captain Eady's Lookout provides room service,. A full, special breakfast,. Plus other meals by arrangement. You may breakfast in the conservatory whilst taking in the splendid views of the harbour. The house has many antiques and on the walls are paintings by local artists. If you enjoy jazz you may talk jazz with Richard and sample the very large collection of over 1200 '78's. If ethnic or classical music is more to your taste, you may talk to Ana about her singing performances or interests.

How to get there. From Dunedin there are two routes to Portobello, either via Portobello Road or Highcliff Road. Portobello Road winds along the harbour via Portsmouth Drive to Macandrew Bay and Broad Bay. Captain Eady's Lookout is tucked down Moss Street, Portobello and is reached via Beaconsfield Road. If one arrives at Portobello via Highcliff Road, Beaconsfield Road is found by turning into Portobello Road back towards town. Map of Otago Peninsula and Route to Captain Eady's. We varen terug naar South Island. Door de B&B werden we vervoerd naar de terminal, 5 minuutjes want alles is klein en dichtbij op het eiland. Captain Eady's Lookout, a delightful homestay bed and breakfast, is situated at Portobello on the Otago Peninsula - a short scenic drive from Dunedin. This character house, hosted by Richard and Ana Good, is situated on a small bluff overlooking Otago Harbour and near the high road to Larnach Castle. The house was built early last century by Captain Eady, a ferry master, who it is said used to watch from his window the ferries plying the harbour. Welcome to the World of Captain Eady's.
