9 May, 2006. I was wrong on the number of refugees that were involved in the peaceful sit-in in front of the UNHCR buildings here in Cairo that ended violently in December. It was not 300 Sudanese refugees, but 3000. THREE THOUSAND. And 27 of them are dead due to police brutality. I have an earlier post on this event…if you wanted to read it. 9 May, 2006. 9 May, 2006. I was also impressed that the stories led to ideas of female empowerment and pride in their Egpytian-ness or Muslim-ness. Go Bussy!

April 2014 visiting Great Grandma. 13 October, 2014. April 2014 we went to visit my Grandma, Seren’s Great Grandma. She calls her Mama Ardood. Visiting with Grandma at her home. I washed and folded some of Seren’s old baby clothes (what little we kept) and hand me downs friends have graciously given us, installed the infant car seat (thanks Mom and Dad! Friday, July 10, 2009. James and Gayatri (my brother and his wife) just had their first baby, Lilly Uma Utley! She was born 6 lbs 8oz. I'm extremely baby hungry, but we are waiting til Landon is home! It's been a while. I am still working on my degree from Washington State University. I get to finish my last semesters up online which is very nice! I should be done by the end of spring! I will be so happy! I am ready to start my career! I'm going to try and keep this updated!
