Create a publication that focuses on literary culture from a variety of genres and angles. Design, Photography, Illustration. To help me see things from the readers' perspective, I created three characters that represent different aspects of the publication's ideal audience. These characters were Pablo the Publisher, Lola the Lit Lover, and Wendy the Writer. As I gathered imagery and considered layouts, I kept these three perspectives in mind.

Connect three books through common themes and imagery. I first researched past covers of each novel to identify previous designers’ visual interpretations. A few word clouds, mood boards, and photo sessions later, I began to recognize common themes and, more specifically, symbolic objects.

Update and refresh the visual identity for an art supply store. Plaza is a well-established brand, so it was important to make sure the store was still recognizable to its many loyal customers. Throughout my initial sketches and Illustrator mockups, I kept the word "Plaza" in the forefront. I wanted to find a creative solution that emphasized both the word itself and what the word means to the brand.
