Backpacking across New Zealand. I just spent the last 10 days in a fairytale. AKA: Italy. What a charming little place! Everything is SO old! Most things I saw: churches and towers. Everywhere! The night after I returned from Venice my friend and I flew to Rome for the weekend. We stayed in the worst hostel ever, thank goodness we were gone all during the day. The weather was perfect so we met my aunt's Italian cousin, Luciano, for a personal bike tour of Rome. He was amazing! May 11, 2012 at 6:31 AM.

Backpacking across New Zealand. Leavin' on a Jet Plane. So here's my itinerary. Then, I may take a gander through Switzerland and Austria on my way up to visit some friends in Germany (if I can afford those glitzy places). Then eventually work my way up to the Netherlands, where I have a couple of friends in Holland. Finally, on May 19th I fly out of Amsterdam (with a layover in Iceland.how cool! Backpacking across New Zealand. It's been a day or two since my last blog post so I thought I'd give 'er an update. A lot has happened in the last couple days, so I'll do a quick recap. For starters, my parents have already come and gone. It truly was a trip of a lifetime for all of us. We had an unbelievable amount of fun, filled with.oh I dunno.a few thousand laughs and memories. Give or take. We will soon have our last BBQ together as everyone is parting ways in the days to come.

Backpacking across New Zealand. Rule of Thumb #376. A good rule of thumb when preparing to travel is to lay out all your clothes and all your money. Then, take half the clothes and twice the money. Someone should needlepoint that on a pillow if it hasn't already been done. Has it been done? Am I the only one in the dark?
