Mark and Alisanne's Cabin. Wednesday, September 2, 2009. September 2, 2009. OK, we've been totally derelict. No excuses. Here are some pics to bring you up to date. We're at about 95% completion. A few little things left to do that we set out to do. Forget maintenance. It doesn't count for this blog! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Alisanne and I on our cabin porch. Mark & Alisanne's Cabin: 4th of July weekend 2008
http://cabinatthebeach.blogspot.com/2008/07/4th-of-july-weekend-2008.html
Mark and Alisanne's Cabin. Sunday, July 6, 2008. 4th of July weekend 2008. This weekend (4th of July), we got the kitchen paneling up. We didn't waste a panel (much to my surprise), and the lines all match up! The water isn't hooked up to the sink yet, but the kitchen looks pretty cool, we think! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Mark & Alisanne's Cabin: May 2007
http://cabinatthebeach.blogspot.com/2007_05_01_archive.html
Mark and Alisanne's Cabin. Sunday, May 20, 2007. Perhaps inspired by the other family building projects, my niece Olivia and foster niece and nephews Munif, Nuha and Mohammed built their own cabin Saturday May 19. It is constructed entirely from recycled lumber and brick. They incorporated natural lighting and air conditioning in their building design. The designer/builders are, from left: Nuha, Munif, Olivia, Mohammed. Sunday, May 13, 2007. Roof and porch progress. Tuesday, May 8, 2007. Grandson Adrian ...

Mark & Alisanne's Cabin: June 2007
http://cabinatthebeach.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html
Mark and Alisanne's Cabin. Saturday, June 23, 2007. June 23 update- windows and air conditioner. This is one of two windows my brothers and I put in the weekend of June 16-17. The other is on the south side of the cabin (to the left as you look at this picture) Let's just say the second window went in much quicker and more smoothly than the first. But hey! We're learning. Now we have windows on the east and south sides and doors on the north and west. Yay! Monday, June 11, 2007. My 15 year old nephew Car...

Mark & Alisanne's Cabin: April 2007
http://cabinatthebeach.blogspot.com/2007_04_01_archive.html
Mark and Alisanne's Cabin. Thursday, April 26, 2007. Today the sun shone at last! We made great progress- nearly all of the trusses are up. Which means we will start putting up the siding tomorrow. Maybe roof this weekend. We are all tired but happy tonight. Tuesday, April 24, 2007. It rained all day! But we got the floor down, so walls can go up tomorrow. Here are pictures from today. You can see the floor and David's "tent" that kept us mostly out of the rain. Monday, April 23, 2007. The kit and all ou...

http://cabinatthebeach.blogspot.com/2007_09_01_archive.html
Mark and Alisanne's Cabin. Sunday, September 9, 2007. September 9 2007: Little green visitor. On an otherwise routine visit to the outdoor facilities today, I found this little guy making like spiderman, walking UP the door. Check out the cool suction cup feet. Tree frog. Spring peeper. I'm sure he found lots of tasty critters in the little outhouse on the prairie! Kind of made my day. September 8-9 2007: The Doors, live at Cottonwood Beach! Mark and Alisanne's Cabin. Sunday, December 2, 2007. OK, it's been a while since I've posted. Progress was interrupted by a mini-vacation with my wife, Alisanne. We went to upstate NY, where I had a speaking engagement. We visited Niagara Falls and went to Hammondsport, on Lake Keuka. My mother grew up there. We were blessed with being there at the right time to see the country in all its fall glory! Here are some photos of the day. We ran two more lengths of wire under the cabin, but those pictures ...

Mark & Alisanne's Cabin: catching up
http://cabinatthebeach.blogspot.com/2008/12/catching-up.html
Mark and Alisanne's Cabin. Monday, December 1, 2008. I haven't added anything since JULY? Well, in my defense, we've been a little busy . . . Both daughters (and their husbands and children) have moved back to Nebraska, with appropriate attendant hubbub, and we raced like crazy (for us) to get the cabin "habitable" for a week's vacation stay with them. I'll let the pictures bring you up to date. These are from mid-August 2008. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Alisanne and I on our cabin porch. Thanks ...
