Gap Year News from Lattitude New Zealand. Thursday, January 20, 2011. We are very happy to introduce two new staff members into the New Zealand Lattitude Office! We have two new Project Co-Ordinators - Maaren Bazuin and Lorna Murrell. Interns Waipora and Jenn are now on their placements and we hope they are having a great time. Gap Year News from Lattitude New Zealand. Sunday, September 12, 2010. On the 27th, 28th, and 29th of August Lattitude NZ had their Orientation weekend for the group of 49 volunteers arriving from the UK, Ireland, Germany, Canada and even one from the U.S.A in Auckland. Thursday, October 1, 2009. As some of you may know, on Wednesday a series of earthquakes and a Tsunami caused devastation around the Pacific rim, mainly in Samoa, American Samoa and Sumatra. For most of the day New Zealand remained on Tsunami alert. Thankfully the waves which did eventually break on our shores were nowhere near as high as expected and minimal damage was incurred. The school as such is not too big and I had heaps of diffrent tasks during the day.
