Ray's Racing Adventures: June 2009
http://raysracingadventures.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 28, 2009. Introduced Audrey to singletrack one night last week. Then we did some fun slight downhills with root filled drop-offs. Attack position, arms bent and no brakes to carry momentum down or up and over roots and a "Whoo Hoooo" from her everytime she cleared a section. She even started to say "That wasnt that big of a drop dad.". She gets totally bugged out by the single track anywhere near a ledge and I dont blame her! She was understandably concerned when I showed her the crazy desce...

Ray's Racing Adventures: July 2009
http://raysracingadventures.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 31, 2009. The new busier me. Well I am signed up for college once again. Its only been what, 19 years since I was a college student? Textbooks are on the way and I already received my first tuition bill and boy oh boy was that a shock! I started a new job that was offered to me on a bike ride no less. Its hard, dirty work and a far cry from my last two "desk jobs" in sales, but I am darn glad to have it. Links to this post. Tuesday, July 28, 2009. I told him I am not yelling, just saying....

Ray's Racing Adventures: It gets easier
http://raysracingadventures.blogspot.com/2009/12/it-gets-easier.html
Saturday, December 5, 2009. I studied most of the day. When I wasn't studying I ate a wee bit too much. I made bacon and a cheese omelet for breakfast and baked potatoes with cheese, sour cream and butter for lunch. I think I am making up for it with a salad for dinner. Though me thinks some dessert may be in order. OH well, its a weakness. Now the question is when do I start ramping it up? Some beer, food if you like-what else! Page when the first one will be. And everyone who doesnt train with powe...

Ray's Racing Adventures: Choices, Self Loathing and More
http://raysracingadventures.blogspot.com/2011/08/choices-self-loathing-and-more.html
Tuesday, August 23, 2011. Choices, Self Loathing and More. Did you ever have the opportunity to hear "that guy" who makes all the decisions, compromises, sacrifices that makes his life the way it is and then still complains when things don't work out? I call that the ole cliche of "you make the bed, you sleep in it." I really despise that guy, hence, therefore I must hate myself cause I do it all the time now. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Ray's Racing Adventures: November 2009
http://raysracingadventures.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 30, 2009. When I was in Chicago this summer at the USA Cycling Cat. 2 coaching clinic I met one of the other coaches who trained junior triathletes. He was quite loquacious, but the one thing I remember most was that he could always tell children who trained (especially ran) with their parents. He could pick them out because they ran slow. And hm, hm, Carbon Racing. To pick up for regional racing. Sort of thingy, but I assure you it is not. Links to this post. Thursday, November 19, 2009.

I am a Bicycle Addict.: May 2010
http://ehrlinger.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
I am a Bicycle Addict. I'm addicted to bicycles. Myopic views of racing in the Cleveland area. Monday, May 17, 2010. Chess on two legs! A broken finger five weeks ago put my spring racing plans into the dumpster, so my first race of the year ends up being the fabled Chippewa Creek Road Race. Special thanks to the Chagrin River Cycling. Team for bring this race back to the area, and all the volunteer work to allow us to pretend to be kids again. Rudy bridged off the second time up the hill and connected i...

I am a Bicycle Addict. I'm addicted to bicycles. Myopic views of racing in the Cleveland area. Monday, August 01, 2011. Lakewood Criterium - Master's and the free lap rule. Being on the sponsor team I did some work before lining up in the Master's field with Zak. Not a lot to tell about, being a 45 minute race, so I'll use this post and the story to describe a bit on the Free Lap Rule. as I have come to understand it. Has a nice section on the free lap discretion. It's all up to the officials. Now for th...

I am a Bicycle Addict. I'm addicted to bicycles. Myopic views of racing in the Cleveland area. Monday, October 25, 2010. Cascade Park Cyclocross - Elyria. Did the drive to Elyria for the Cascade Park Cyclocross race. Fifth race of the NEOCX. Series. Somehow I'm on top of the 40 series in eighth overall. Cool, though I need some better finishes to stay in the top 10. I used the large crescent wrench to straighten the deraileur hanger, and used a spare powerlink to repair the chain. Needless to say, I ...

I am a Bicycle Addict.: September 2010
http://ehrlinger.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
I am a Bicycle Addict. I'm addicted to bicycles. Myopic views of racing in the Cleveland area. Wednesday, September 29, 2010. Well, my uncle wrote me Sunday and asked how my race went. Eh, not my best day. Some days it flows (Wendy Park) some days you work like crazy to eek out a result. Kent State Stark Campus. That was a script SV? Cross is interesting in the way that I could probably sit in that group on the road, but a technical gap here and there, and a small gap becomes unmanageable quickly. My tea...

I am a Bicycle Addict.: April 2010
http://ehrlinger.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
I am a Bicycle Addict. I'm addicted to bicycles. Myopic views of racing in the Cleveland area. Wednesday, April 28, 2010. Plans Well, I have them, of course. Then again, it would be nice to execute them. Unfortunately not to be this spring. The dérailleur shifts gears. it's not a de-RAIL-er. That would cause a train to jump the tracks. It just changes the gearing so you can go at a different speed. Well, I was splitting wood. split, split, split. And so begins a story with a not so happy ending. In the a...
