Card Comments: July 2009
http://cardcomments.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
My personal exploration of web 2.0 for libraries. Wednesday, July 29, 2009. I’ve been bitten by the Animoto bug! A lot of the tools we have learned about in EDES 501 have been relatively new to me. Prior to the course, I may have heard of them, maybe even dabbled in them, but I was basically a novice with all of them. But now, Animoto? Doesn’t it sound great? That was all I needed to help me select which multimedia sharing tool I would explore this week! I decided to venture to Animoto. After deleting so...

My personal exploration of web 2.0 for libraries. Saturday, August 29, 2009. I think I can, I think I can, I think I can. but not right now. I breathed a sigh of relief when I finished my last assignment for EDES 501 and an even bigger one when I received my final grade for the course, but I still had a shadow over me - the next course. I just couldn't seem to muster the proper enthusiasm for diving in again. Once my decision was made, I felt better. This is right for me and my family, for right now.

Sheryl's Web 2.0 Journey: Project Wiki
http://sherylsweb2journey.blogspot.com/2009/08/project-wiki.html
Sheryl's Web 2.0 Journey. Wednesday, August 12, 2009. One of the great challenges of the knowledge management field is sharing tacit knowledge in a way that passes it along to others or even converts it into something like explicit knowledge" (Sheehy). Wikis are a collaborative writing space that is created and edited by a community of users. Wikis are presented as an almost blank canvas where content is added online. Why do I need to learn about the. But they work essentially separately from one another.

Walking with Web 2.0. Just another WordPress.com weblog. As I try to put my ideas together for this post a million questions and issues float through my mind and everything becomes a blur. How do I pick one out of all of the tools I have learned and experimented with these past six weeks to introduce to my staff? How do I put one tool as being above the others with regards to impact on teaching and learning. Don’t I need them all to be effective? I need to be realistic within the context of my school.

Walking with Web 2.0. Just another WordPress.com weblog. I’m lazy, well not really but RSS feeds allow me to be just a little lazy. Although I selected to use Google Reader for my personal feed aggregator there are a wealth of sources that teachers can access. Such as:. Is a great source to refer to if teachers are looking for alternatives. Staying up to date...

Sheryl's Web 2.0 Journey. Thursday, August 6, 2009. Xo xo gossip girl". If you're a fan of the tv show "gossip girl", you'll know that the plot and conflicts in this show keeps developing by having the latest rumours posted by gossip girl which within seconds reaches every student's cellphone via SMS text messaging. I guess this is when it's handy for someone to retweet the information you've missed. However, even Mack mentioned how Twitter isn't the best application to look for archived information.

Sheryl's Web 2.0 Journey: Social Multimedia
http://sherylsweb2journey.blogspot.com/2009/07/social-multimedia.html
Sheryl's Web 2.0 Journey. Tuesday, July 28, 2009. Check out my first Animoto video! Http:/ www.youtube.com/watch? What's with the cheese? It was very cheesy, wasn't it! It's because I'm getting married this Saturday, August 1st. so, I'm in that daydreamy mode right now. Most cheeses are pretty easy to slice. So was Animoto. I found the product to be better than what my skills would allow me in Moviemaker. However, because I was only using the free option I was limited to 30 seconds and I couldn't edi...

It’s Time to Let Go of the Virtual Library | Walking with Web 2.0
https://kreierson.wordpress.com/2009/09/10/book-trailers
Walking with Web 2.0. Just another WordPress.com weblog. It’s Time to Let Go of the Virtual Library. Yesterday while attending a planning session for our districts virtual library, I asked a collegue how much time he spent on his virtual library. It is sad but I was reassured with his answer of two or three hours a week. My frustration with my school’s library site is that I want it to be more interactive. I don’t believe I am alone in my frustration. By kreierso on September 10, 2009. You are commenting...
