I adapted a recipe from eatingwell.com – their take on oven-fried chicken. The only variations is that I used drumettes and whole chicken wings (oh, and maybe I left the skin on. EatingWell’s Oven-Fried Chicken. 1/2 cup buttermilk (I didn’t have buttermilk, so I used 1/2 cup skim milk to 1 teaspoon of vinegar). 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard. 2 cloves garlic, minced.

The secret ingredient to this soup is a chunk of American cheese. You put it in the freezer for easy shredding – it melted really well! In their test kitchen, the decided all cheddar cheese made the soup grainy. 1 onion, chopped fine ( obviously, I left this out! 1 carrot, peeled and chopped fine (mine was 3 ounces). 2 cups 1% milk.

My daughter's teacher was expecting her second child a week ago and so the class had a surprise shower for her. I wish I had a picture of the beautiful quilt. Each child picked out their own square and then one of the moms sewed the pieces together. It was beautiful! What a treasure for the baby and teacher. Liquid pearls - gold.
