A Martagon in my garden – in the autumn light
https://intheautumnlight.com/2011/07/05/a-martagon-in-my-garden
In the autumn light. A Martagon in my garden. Last year I came across a Martagon lily at a local garden centre and did a little dance of joy. I have wanted a Martagon for years. Once home, I planted it near the main walk in the back garden. This spring, I was secretly thrilled with the appearance of new green shoots. So, thank you Martagon, for the inspiration. Long may you bloom. Tagged: Lilium martagon Martagon lily. A spring in my step. An autumn’s work. 17 thoughts on “ A Martagon in my garden. I wen...

Adventures in Gardening: Ficus, Bamboo, Basil
http://myadventuresingardening.blogspot.com/2008/01/ficus-bamboo-basil.html
My gardening adventures in Pune, Maharashtra, India. Monday, January 28, 2008. Ficus, Bamboo, Basil. Ficus has been one of my favourite trees. I have a few planted in one of my flowerbeds. I am hoping to use it as a screen once it gets a bit bigger. This plant lends itself well to shaping and its light variegated silver green leaves look amazing in the early morning sun. New shoots of the rose plant putting forth its baby red green leaves - which turn green and lose its red color as they mature. The wint...

http://fairegarden.blogspot.com/2008/07/interesting-insects.html
Monday, July 7, 2008. We have been getting some visitors in the garden. Most of them can even fly in to have a look around. Some even let us get close enough to snap a photo. What colorful eyes he/she has. Maybe it was thought that the blue chair on the deck was water? This larger one is another story. Many attempts were made to get close enough to macro, but this is the best that could be done, using the zoom. Pretty interesting, don't you agree? Ah, staying put if not holding still on the. Is this Blac...
Faire Garden: July 2008
http://fairegarden.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 21, 2008. It is early morning and we are going out the back door to have a walkabout the garden, as we try and do every single day. We have had some rain recently so says the dragonfly's flagon. Good deal. That means the plants should be pert and perky. Off we go! On the tomatoes, with the arborvitae behind, someone has been a busy spider. You have created a vision of beauty Ms. Arachnid. Very geometrical. Down in the area we call the flat garden where the old gravel driveway of the house ne...

Thursday, July 17, 2008. A Little Whimsy In The Garden. Our story opens in the maternity ward under the deck at Faire Garden General. Mister and Missus Bongo Congo are beyond excited, for her sand has broken. A little even splashed up onto her cheek. Mister looks a little worried, but she assures him that everything will be okay. My gardening adventures in Pune, Maharashtra, India. Friday, January 25, 2008. Salvia, Champa, Bougainvillea. The Salvia's have been doing really good. Very hardy plants that easily adapt to transplantation and stress. The Golden Champa is in bloom again - this is a really beautiful flower with an amazing scent. The golden yellow color of this flower is also very pretty. The ferns are doing well in the cold weather and have not been complaining yet. Bougainvillea bright and vivid as usual.
